I've wondered the same thing. Googling around I haven't been able to find any kind of standard for defining the different ovals. Most of the sites basically say you have to try the hats on and see what fits. If the long oval fits best then you're a long oval. Makes me believe that there...
My son is 30 and has never worn a wristwatch. He doesn't see the need since he has always had his phone with him.
I've always worn a wristwatch or carried a pocket watch. Always will, regardless of whether or not I have a cell phone handy.
There may well be some truth to the idea that...
I was thinking that there is another factor at work here. Call it apples to oranges. How fair is it to compare a well broken in vintage hat to a brand new unworn one? Let's even leave vintage out of it. How about comparing a broken in modern hat to a new one?
A broken in (not broken down)...
Definitely a fake and not a time traveler. That guy wasn't even there. I didn't see him and I was there. You won't recognize me because I have my hand over most of my face, but I was looking right at that spot... and someone else entirely was standing there. And she was much more attractive.
50 years ago I would have been 13 years old. My grandfather and uncles wore hat though my Dad did not. I don't recall ever touching one of their hats. Even if I had I wouldn't have been doing so with the idea of checking out its feel or "hand". At 13 I wouldn't have known a good hat from a...
Another vote for the Men's Wearhouse. Decent price. Altered to fit properly. I've found my tux to be even more comfortable than any of the suits I own. Very satisfied.
What interests me about that statement is that I'd think the values of being that kind of "solid" family man would resonate quite strongly with all the "golden agers" here. Only in the details of the possessions would I see any differences and that's only because of what those people would be...
I'm too old to get this whole hipster thing. Never even heard of it before this thread. So I googled some pictures to get an idea of what all the fuss is about. It looks to me like emo meets punk with black plastic frame glasses?
Bad attitudes from youth. Nothing new there.
Yawn.
I wish someone would steal out of our office community fridge. When it finally got cleaned out last week there were items in there that had expiration dates from 2008. No fake moldy bags required. I sure don't put anything of mine in there. :essen:
The books were even worse. I got a deal on the whole set years ago. After reading about half the first one I went and took a very soapy disinfecting shower and gave the whole set away to someone else.
I usually eat lunch alone and prefer to. If I'm on a business trip I usually eat alone.
If I'm in a fine restaurant it's most likely going to be wife my wife or other family members.
And frankly, I try to pay as little attention to other restaurant patrons as they'll allow me to. I...
I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find someone taking offense at just about anything. Especially these days.
The term "Yank" doesn't bother me personally at all.
