    Skills For "Living The Era"

I've been using a percolator for about seven years. I went through a couple of vintage models and finally bought a new one.

Are you ever tired of explaining why you live or dress the way you do?

Or maybe what you were wearing! Or not wearing. Not sure how far the peeking goes.

Are you ever tired of explaining why you live or dress the way you do?

Not sure if I want to laugh or run for the hills. :eusa_doh:

I never thought of it that way but it's so true!!! I see it on Facebook constantly.

Agreed. I asked her what she likes to do for fun. She stared and then said "I don't know." She wasn't passionate about anything.

Are you ever tired of explaining why you live or dress the way you do?

Yesterday I had tea with a woman whom I hope to avoid in the future. I mentioned that I enjoy keeping house, cleaning, organizing and cooking. She gave me a death stare and said she had NEVER heard ANYBODY say they like doing those things other than cooking. My issue isn't so much with...

Golden Era Things You've Revived Or Repaired For Use

I use those. The more I read here, the more I realize that I'm so accustomed to my revivals that I have overlooked them as "normal."

    are we becoming too self-centered?

A new analysis of the American Freshman Survey, which has accumulated data for the past 47 years from 9 million young adults, reveals that college students are more likely than ever to call themselves gifted and driven to succeed, even though their test scores and time spent studying are...

    Depressed by the modern world

Back on topic, this thread was posted by a fellow who feels depressed by the modern world. I don't think anyone should judge him or others for what they feel as a "waste." Depression is real for many people, and if they could snap out of it in an instant, most would. Some things are genuinely...

    Depressed by the modern world

People can't fix their own cars anymore because they are all computerized. If something goes, it goes to the shop, and it'll cost you. Look at all of the recalls- cars aren't made very well.

    Depressed by the modern world

19 year olds lack patience and tend to say things like the above.

Your first statement is a contradiction. Your last statement is a demand. The stuff in between is your opinion.

"Wives with Beehives" coming to TLC

I have a vintage themed blog and have had a couple of people leave me comments like this one although not as vile. It's astonishing to me that some so called feminists seem to think they know what's best for all women, and would in an instant take away other women's freedoms to placate their own...
