I believe the lense on the large aviator (62mm) is the same as on the large shooter. Aesthetics aside, I believe the only real difference between the two styles is that the lenses are positioned higher and closer together on the shooters to facilitate lense coverage when looking down the barrel...
I spend a lot of time in the out-of-doors, hunting, fishing and just kicking around and I need a pair of glasses that fits the bill. I have a nice pair of Shuron frames that are light and easy to wear but they are so delicate that I am always having to go in and get them tuned up. I am...
Other than being period pieces there is really no basis to compare The Great Gatsby to Boardwalk Empire. One is a classic part of American literature the other is an HBO series. One is subtle, the other not so much.
Just watched the trailer and even though my expectations were low to begin with I was disappointed. All the subtlety of a jack-hammer. Another great story botched (again).
Coming up on year three with my Aero LHB in FQHH. My $.02 is to just wear your jacket every day, rain, snow, sun, whatever. Nothing any more extreme than the spray bottle as HD suggested. I think you will be surprised how quickly the jacket will break in. This way you can't screw it up.
This forum is costing me $$$$$! Over the past 6-months I have managed to spend quite a bit collecting several very nice Sheaffer fountain pens. I use at least one every day. The problem is flying with a non-cartridge pen. I can try to make sure the bladder is less than full but then I risk...
Thanks, Griff - that made up my mind. I'll order the same back as you have. One more question (at least for now) what lining do you have? In fact, would you mind sending me a PM detailing exactly what you ordered? I don't think I would change anything and order mine in seal jerky or smooth...
I'm also struggling with deciding which CR and how to have it configured. Honestly, I am having a difficult time distinguishing the differences in designs from the picks on Aero's web site.
I am probably going to opt for Seal Smooth HH or Seal Jerky HH in brown (just not a black leather...
Nice photos, Eric. Your Lyman's appear to be in great shape as do the rifles. I have always been amazed at the engineering behind them yet how simple they are to use. I can't imagine how much it would cost to buy one today if they were still being made out of the same materials at the original...
Found them on the web over the weekend. All of their products look great, appear to be well made and the leather looks great. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has products from them, especially one of their messenger bags.
Thanks,
JDG
Just received a very nice sleeve for my iPhone from Makr Carry Goods. Quality is top shelf, looks great and will only get better as the leather ages. Can't post a link right now but Makr comes up via Google.
Gotta love old M12's (especially 16's) that show years of honest wear. I'd rather have an ols gun with honest wear than a new gun right out of the box. It's a respectability thing: the gun's been there and done that.
Finally got out to the range with the Sedgley. I need to tweak it a little but not much. I wasn't very prepared so I just put the rifle across my folded coat and started shooting. 1" groups at 50-yards, 1"-inch high. Not bad for the first time I shot the rifle - I think I'll keep it. A good...
