    That was pretty helpful. Especially HD's statement that "vintage" was slightly lighter (in weight) and softer. I am not as concerned with the coloration as I am the texture and feel of the leathers. Cheers

    IR's have the WORST sole for snow/ice of any shoes/boots I have ever owned. Three words: slick as snot. Took mine to the cobbler and had him glue on some rubber soles with deeper tread. Problem solved.
