Hi,
I'm comparing the Type B-1 Flight hats available through These two sites (WPG What price glory, and MOS Mash online store)
Any thoughts?
The WPG B-1 hat seems to be cheaper, but not sure on how the quality compares to the Mash online version which is more expensive but looks like it...
I read through two thirds of this thread. That Zipper looks like he Just removed the pull deliberately and probably took the photo and put the pull right back on it after if you ask me. he thinks he's being really smart, you know?
All I can say is That's practically NOS condition!...the cracked and missing bits off the collar just happen because of Age I would say, the fleece looks like it's matted from storage but otherwise not shrunk like it's been sweated or matted down through daily wear...I mean it's been worn, but...
...I'm too fat now for a G-1 Jacket!
It's been a long time coming staving it off far as possible but the last 10 long months of being here in the ides of winter. To top things off, actually the whole Quarantine thing left me too big for my britches...say, I'm finding myself now to be 20 pounds...
Apologies in advance for this slight detour: All I can tell you is there is a wreckovation vs. a restoration, and sometimes you have to know the lines...I honestly love love love a nice worn out jacket, there's nothing in the world like it. So if you do invest. I'd love to see more photos. Just...
You oughta see The Soviet flight jacket that I'm wearing these days...this ain't nothin'! That being said...I'd give you like a hundred bucks for this here Jacket in the current shape it appears to be in.
Probably 2:1 is good water-vinegar. I'm pleased to report that my Soviet flight Jacket mould and mildew odour problems are solved. Fresh as a daisy, I had to keep the Jacket outside at night for a week or two, and it's been great living in that Jacket for the last month or so, excepting the Pull...
That's one Lush cut shirt! The sleeves are nice!
Wow! That's absolutely Beautiful, what thread have you used?
The one thing I'm planning on eventually when I get my hands on the material is a pair of Buckskin "native" inspired pants.
I don't have rivets, I'm nowhere near that level yet, I...
I don't know, couldn't disagree that it might have run out of thread on the bobbin. whoever was running the Job was probably really pressed for time and Those parts of the Jacket were probably some of the final touches. The film industry is pretty demanding with time spots..The textile industry...
Possibly, yes, that's why I selected the vinegar in this case.
I used Hydrogen peroxide on the inside of a few Jackets, wiping it on and had no issue with the colour so far, but yes, I would be proceeding with caution and test it out first if I wasn't sure.
The vinegar isn't the greatest...
I've had good results with both Hydrogen peroxide and vinegar individually, I would say that the Hydrogen peroxide produces faster results than Vinegar.
the reason I didn't want to use hydrogen peroxide is I have no way to test whether or not it might fade the dye from the shell or liner, if it...
Funny I had this conversation today at lunch. My Grandfather was issued a Canadian Wool uniform when he enlisted back in 1936. He thought maybe the pants were a bit too big, and the QM replied "do they hurt you under the armpits? Then they fit!"
you need oldschool high rise Jeans with that high...
