I just ordered my "dream jacket" (Eastman Air Comfort), but getting the Grumman Goose seaplane (which logically should go with the jacket) past my wife might be a bit tougher!
I love this forum! No matter what post I read I learn some new esoterica. Full grain vs top grain. Hide tanning techniques. Now zipper gap settings/repair. The more I think I know, the more I'm amazed by the cumulative knowledge of all those here on TFL. :)
Anyone who loves baseball and still fondly remembers his favorite glove from when he was a kid would probably find the burnished, banged up natural leather of the jacket quite appealing. Maybe not as an everyday wearer but it could fill a special niche in one's wardrobe.
This size 46 beauty by Star Sportswear is almost mint and sold for $58 (!!!). Sadly, not to me (I saw it right after the bidding ended).There are definitely bargains to be had.
There are plenty of vintage G-1's in size 38 and 40 to be found in excellent condition (the larger sizes are more difficult to come by). Find a nice 1950's-1960's G-1 with real mouton collar and a true military pedigree.
