I made the top from this pattern. I really need to make the matching skirt but I just haven't had the time right now.

I can do finger waves and I have had short hair. I just don't think it suits me the best because I have pudgy cheeks.

Thanks kamikat, I did get that pattern when it was first released, I believe 2001 this one also came out at the same time.
That explains it! I was busy with babies at that time, not sewing a single stitch.

My mom made my Holloween costume from that pattern. That top looks great on you.
And Thanks Kamikat and goldwyn girl. I do like the outfit it just doesn't look much like the picture in the book.
I am almost finished with two pair of Overalls from the evedress pattern. I hope to post pictures soon. I have to learn to do buttonholes first.:eusa_doh:

I am really liking these patterns and I wondered if someone have made them and what they thought of them?

They say average in skills, but are some easier or harder to do within that range of skills?
I have all three of those but have yet to try them.

Try patternreview.com (free registration required for reviews over 6 months old), or the Great Pattern Review. Googling for reviews works too, but I often find useful info on those two sites.

Lovely things, everyone! I love how patriotic we all are :)

Here's my latest. From vintage rayon fabric from the expo at Santa Monica, vintage buttons from an estate sale, and modern cotton eyelet trim from the garment district:

It's the one in the top most view. A little deceptive from the pic, since the skirt is actually cut straight and not at an A line, but still super cute!

oooh! im onto this next! its all cut out! you've just made me get all excited!

Here's the latest! It came out a bit too big, but it was the smallest pattern I have yet to work with, so I think I was a bit too generous when I was grading it and my regular machine is out of order. My back-up machine has different marking for seam guides. I had to add an inch to the bodice length and I added in-seam pockets.

Ladies, I am so impressed by the things you area all making and my inability to find vintage/repros that I like - I am taking the plunge thanks to your inspiration. I haven't sewn in about 5 years, though I taught sewing for a long time and it's like riding a bike, haha.

I think I will start with the Sense and Sensibility Swing dress pattern, has anyone made this?

Yes, I've made several. In fact, I made and modeled this for the website and paper catalog. http://www.sensibility.com/pattern/swing.htm

Ya know, I thought you looked familiar but I couldn't place it and I was on the sensibility site today perusing the images - i have the pattern already. I want to get some muslin this week to try doing up a sample, i haven't sewn for myself in a long long time.

You look fab in those pics and fab in your current one!
