I made a jumper from a 1950s Vogue Knitting Book - The photo uploader hates me so pics on my blog. It looks a lot nicer 'empty' than it does when I'm wearing it. The under-arms sag a lot, do you think (this is directed at the knitters) I can take in the sleeves by making the underarm seam bigger?

It is possible (it involves cutting and sewing with a machine), but if you're not a highly experienced knitter then I wouldn't attempt it. The sleeves will unravel if you don't know what you're doing, and it will be a waste of your hard work.

Honestly, it looks just fine on you. Often our mistakes seem monstrous to us, but no one else notices - if they do, they think you meant to do it that way. If I didn't know you made a mistake, I'd think the same thing. :) Next time, make your armholes smaller!

I made this for a couple from my church. It's a vintage layette repro from Simplicity.
The dress is satin, the overlay is organza. The bonnet is satin. They're hand embroidered (sheesh!), and there's piping on the bodice, sleeves, pockets, and bonnet brim. The hem is scalloped.

Forgive the pic, it was taken with my cellphone.

this is adorable. i am about to become a Grandma for the first time..i was secretly hoping for a girl so i would have an excuse to sew little dresses and practice my embroidery and pintucking skills, but looks like we will be welcoming a boy :) So, I'm not sure what i will be able to subject the little guy to, lol

I love the juxtaposition of a very modern fabric with a vintage pattern. The blouse is one of our own Lauren's now OOP patterns.

You are welcome. I found it confusing at first, too, but suddenly figured it out. Your sewing projects are lovely, nice fabrics, too.
