Here's my last summer project (finished last month). Now I'm on to wool and flannel!

Finished #2 of 3 in my sew along. On this one I used some fabric from my vintage stash. The flowered seersucker I had to piece a lot, especially for the skirt because I didn't have enough for the complete dress.

I plan on wearing it to a dance this Saturday.

The hardest part for me was the hem...I have no Idea how to hem properly at all so it is really butchered... I think for my next project I may try to sew some blouses because I am sadly lacking those in my wardrobe ;) (oh this is a wrap dress)

Lovely hat Poggleberry. I love the pleats.
Peash- that dress is very flattering on you.
Lady Day-Beautiful work as always. I love the floral print.
Cute dress and hat BoPeep.
Thanks for the compliments everyone. The blue floral dress is from a New Look pattern, The PJs are The Vintage Pattern Lending Library and the green and blue dress is from Past Patterns.

I love the set so much! And it came together so much faster than I thought it would. My only snafu was in cutting my pieces so the tie ended up on the wrong side of the skirt.

Lauren, I'm not sure how old the fabric is. I found it on Etsy and the seller mentioned picking it up in a lot from a fabric shop that had gone out of business. I was looking for something evocative of the tropical souvenir prints of the '40s and had decided that finding something vintage looking would be my best bet. I think I spent more time looking for a fabric that made me happy than on the actual construction of the garments. Go figure...

I must admit, I'm not real happy with this. The bodice fit like a dream before I attached the skirt. I think the weight of the skirt pulls the bodice. Any ideas? Maybe a waiststay?

Kamikat, I love the fabric and the way you used it. I don't see anything wrong with the bodice...maybe it could have been fitted a little tighter, but of course I'm no expert.

I like that kamikat. :D Do you think a belt would help the pull? The other thing I can think of is that I have some dresses that have a false top slip attached to the waist, which is adjustable. That might help too.

I don't notice anything looking weird from my end, but if you're not comfortable, I understand that. I'm thinking belt, that way you wouldn't need to mess with it. I think a belt would look cute, but I understand if that isn't the look you are going for.

Peash that is a wonderful job! I can't believe that is your second sewing project. Beautiful! :D

It would be easier to try a waist stay than re-cutting the skirt to eliminate some of the fullness.
