bothered
joeniblick, it's funny, it seems one thing bothers some people, and others bother others
myself, i was debating whether to put up with the wrinkles of the overly soft leather, and so i checked the whole jacket out...that inspection made me aware of the front pocket problems where...
uPdate
the company, which i'll reveal after all this is over, received the jacket back today
one of the people handling orders inspected it, agreed that the flaws were not of the quality the company should provide, but could not speak for the owner, who was away and will get back to me on...
A-TWO
well, don't be sorry for disagreeing! i think it's wonderful if you have a good one, or if maybe i was just being a bit too critical
these were made for actual sale to military personnel, full milspex and contract numbers. i know the g-1 is amazing and as good as it gets...it's nice to...
cLassic footnote to a-2/g-1 history
flight apparel industries produced a-2s and g-1s in hammonton new jersey...i've one of each from them...or him
i say him as the owner of the co. sadly died in a plane vs. plane accident in hammonton in 1983, so nothing more was made by them after that...
thanks again for the interest in this rather soap-operish saga...in a world with heavier issues, i realize it is not great, but we all have chosen to love these items that can be historical, fascinating, and pieces of living art
opas, this was not a 'repro' luftwaffe style jacket, however, it...
thanks either way
i did not post to get agreement (tho i like it), but i do appreciate every point of view either way...
being a rather opinionated chap i had my own point of view (guess what it is) but wanted a reality check, and was corroborated by it
i did wish to mention to 'opas...
thanks for more response...
i'd say that my 'obnoxious' remark about myself was more of a joke...actually, i was quite nice, but determined that this was not right
thank you feraud for your input...as we all know, we can get these jackets for utilitarian purposes for $100 at the mall, when...
appreciated
thanks to both of you so far for the feedback...
i'm kind of obnoxious when i want to be, so i was definitely in 'give 'em heLL harry' mode...but i did wish a wall to bounce off...and this forum is the best place for that
thank you for being that wall...
...now, what do you...
hi all...would appreciate some objective opinions on whether i'm on the right track with returning a jacket...
it was a special sizing so the company (who i don't wish to mention at this juncture) has told me i have to keep it.....i pointed out the defects that are in the photos with this...
"26 miles across the sEA"
i recall the summer of 1969, taking a seaplane across to Catalina island, 26 miles across the chanel from san pedro in calif...26miles just like the song
the seaplanes no longer run, and the pilots didn't wear a leather jacket, however, if they had (it was summer in a...
sorry iNDiANA
sorry, that's not an indiana jones coat (which has patch pockets)...but rather something much cooLer in my opinion...a vintage Highwayman or Luftwaffe style coat...reaLLy superB!
SToRMy opinion
i must concur with storm comparing aero and schott as i've had both, and many schotts
schott is a decent standard-quality u.s. made jacket that, unfortunately, is sold at premium prices on their website...from my understanding schott uses the same 'unite' u.s. union factory to...
luftwaFFe...sTyLe
i have been as guilty as anyone, well, more so, of using the term luftwaffe jacket...but i loved the pix of the french resistance wearing them, and spanish rebels wearing the jackets, likely at the same moment that luftwaffe pilots dropping bombs on them during the spanish...
posing or WarHOL?
thanks ace and peacoat for allowing me in the club though i've hung up my bike before it hung me up
as for taking out the new capri, i'll say that going through that paper thin sheet metal was like a hot knife through margarine...it was yellow coloured too, so didn't feel...
LufTWHAT jacket???
i saw uswings jacket since i'm on their mailing list. thing with them is, a few things they do good. and a bunch they do inauthentically and poorly.
i won't rehash the rest of their stuff, though i'm a big fan of their milspec a-2 and g-1 when they can send out one that...
rim sHot
thanks rimmer...and i certainly wasn't being argumentative...i do agree, the more perfectly protective jacket is likely the one most police would not wear...buT recreational riders should, just like drivers should always buckle up ;D
and again, upon landing on the hood of a new ford...
loox greaT!
i don't ride, ever since laying across the hood of a capri on pch in santa monica on my yamaha 250 enduro in college...left turner didn't check all the lanes
but as far as length for general wear, i wouldn't think you'd want it shorter
for $50, hilarious, huh?
nice bike too !
