yes...yES...YESSS!!!
i have the precursor to the 135 listed in the classified section...it was a 681 schott and was discontinued in 1995...the only difference between it and the 135 is the back, which is the less expensive to construct 3-piece back on the current 135 versus the 681's famed...
22222222222222222222 cents
another 2 cents...as said, gibson and barnes are down there, and are top of the line jackets, and only about 10 percent higher in price...and g and b backs up their quality...i'd head straight to their showroom
if you order over the phone, you'd need to give them...
here we go again...another SCHOTT Highwayman/Luftwaffe style jackets, size 48, new old stock worn several times only, 1-piece back. it's a #681, not made any more, replaced by the #135 that is the same EXCEPT the 135 has a 3-piece back...so this is rare, and MiNT...on 'the bay'...
He's One Bad Mutha… Shut Yo Mouth!

however, i'm the 'bad mutha' who started calling the thing 'shaft' collared...

hmmm, what jacket size are you?
seriously, that's hilarious. or hilariously, that's serious. whatever.
but i'm sitting here with my new schott with it's collar rolled in so i can indeed have it look like a button down shirt collar, and you are with your aero californian doing the...
collared and well-hung
one of the more interesting threads i've seen in awhile...
i suppose because i've often been dissatisfied with the collar on otherwise great jackets, and really hadn't focused in on fixing a collar and saving a jacket
i had purchased an older, meaning well worn, schott...
same spiewak a-2, if you 'd like...
nice jacket...i do happen to have one listed on my website if anyone's interested, same size...compared to the delovely one above, which let's call a 10 on a scale of 10 condition wise, i'd say mine is 8.5 to 9
it's listed as a 46 but these do run small...
vanson merc vs. aero hwyman
cut to the chase...winner is aero hwyman
now the reasons. and this is solely on fit and cut, which was you were mainly concerned about...the quality i found similar...meaning xlnt.
my problem, and possibly yours, with the merc was that in pix, it loox highly...

true, g and b will not do any work except on jackets they originally made/sold. lawsuit happy customer who had a jacket repaired there some years back prompted the policy
bE it RESOLVeD!
well, it has been resolved...and i'll say the remake jacket i got today was as beautiful as i had hoped Dyer Leather motorcycle jackets would be when i first ordered.
i thank bruce, the owner, for coming through and making sure the remake was superb. at some point i'll see if...
size uP
good advice, the cooper's are a bit tight, so a 44 would be in order
but cooper's are not all that ww2...the worst thing about them is the overly large neck hole, and then of course they have a rather large pointy collar, and they are short, 25" for regular size
i've got a 44 reg...
it was a bummer skibum
yes skibum, the jacket was not too cool, but hopefully they will get it right the second time around...they're using the regular thickness leather this time, and are aware about not having the other defects...so i'm keeping postive that they'll get it right
but...
thanks aLL
as i've stated above, there is an UPDATE---now i've been informed by Dyer leather that Dyer will be making a new replacement jacket in thicker leather. glad to report it, and will report back once i get the replacement. :D

my response yesterday to not mentioning the maker's name was "absolutely...i will just be happy. no ouTing...thanks for that suggestion!"
today, after talking to the owner, it's a different story. his claim is that this is handmade and so there will be small variances in the...
