how big is the chest circ. of your jacket???

wahhhhhhhhhh well thanks peacoat, now i'm fer sure fer sure going to be afraid of the rain...am wondering if using leather water resistance spray's, or just conditioners, would keep this from happening...but then i'd also be a bit wary putting a water resist spray on my eastman...

how big is the chest circ. of your jacket???

eeeeek, your story of your shrunk schott (no, that's not a double entendre) made me take notice...i wouldn't like my jackets to be any smaller than they are now, and since everyone on the forum is such a fan of doing a gene kelly with your jackets, i eased up enough to not run out of the rain...

how big is the chest circ. of your jacket???

i'm totally interested in fit, especially since coming onto the forum here i've found many members prefer their mil and bike jackets a trim fit...reasoning being that ww2 mil jackets were worn trim, and for bike jackets that are actually worn for biking, a good fit is needed if one hits the...

Newbie Question: What Have I Got Here?

welcome...i'm no bonafide expert on label contract numbers, but this certainly has a contract number which, as far as i know, refers to it's being built according to military contract...and at that time spiewak was not in the business (if they ever were) of making 'replica' mil jackets it...

Anyone Have a BLACK Schott 184SM?

been there, done that howdy... i had one...it looked great, i loved it...get it i sold mine as foolishly i got it the precise size that a schott rep told me...not to fault her, but the jacket are allegedly now sized 'accurately', where in the past the sizes were a size bigger than the...

    Vanson Leathers: Enfield pattern

vanson howdy...i got vanson fever a whilst back...and it was either the enfield, like you, or the mercury...the merc in the pix looked a bit more tapered, so i went for that... as some might know around here, especially after my recent eastman purchase, ww2 luftwaffe jacket styling has been my...

    New guy and old jacket

welcome...and... ahh, the bittersweet experience of the found jacket... i've gotten so many that were a size too small and unfortunately i didn't have a wife to give them to...though i hear wives are good for other things too but at least with this initial act of sacrifice you have hopefully...

Review of the Eastman 'Luftwaffe' jacket, NEW

danke thanks stearman, johnnynotoes (sorry about your digit loss) and aswatland... it seems that many of the aficionados of the german pilot jackets prefer the hartmann...i think the real ones that i've seen were nice, but so many of the replicas have the lower pockets looking like little...

Review of the Eastman 'Luftwaffe' jacket, NEW

answers for peacoat peacoat, i must answer some of the points you make: 1. me? oblique? nevahhhhhhhhh... 2. but seriously, a nasty luftwaffe jacket, icon of the proud, brave fliers who nevertheless gave their lives and allegiance for the black mark of the 20th century...a nice jewish kid...

Review of the Eastman 'Luftwaffe' jacket, NEW

Review of the Eastman 'Luftwaffe' jacket, NEW

PiXXXXXXXXX thanks mcmurphy...i'm wearing it as i post these pix of the eastman luftwaffe...for those who recall the pix i put up of the lewis dominator, basically the same style jacket, i am astounded at how different the two jackets look (to me anyway)...the lewis has a total 60s rocker look...

did iT...(guLp!)...ordered a new EASTMAN luftwaffe jacket

hi...i did have the pleasure of the dominator, and it was a pleasure, and it was more of a rocker jacket...the only changes i made to it, and at no cost, was to have the waist brought in by one or two inches (as i've said about the eastman luftwaffe, no need to do that if you have a larger drop...

did iT...(guLp!)...ordered a new EASTMAN luftwaffe jacket

stearman, i feel your pain...or the cow's pain... of all things i was destined to be a vegetarian who loves leather jackets...a year or so i decided to overcome the temptation and just get used jackets...but when i couldn't find my size in eastman's on ebay, i had to give in i know u.s...

Review of the Eastman 'Luftwaffe' jacket, NEW

answered precisely by edward: i love when i don't have to write a word, but i love writing, so...sufferrr... no, really, i adore both companies' jackets, and edward had it right on...i love the 60s, and adored my lewis dominator, and it totally was a jacket of the 60s...but my reason for...

    Eastman Horsehide Leather Quality; Consistent?

sorry to hear of the variance...i can only speak to two things: 1. i just got the eastman horse luftwaffe, and it is amazing...very supple and a nice weight, but not heavy...i had an aero that was horse, superb, but a harder, heavier, crisper leather, tho it was the mid-weight 2. i spent...

Review of the Eastman 'Luftwaffe' jacket, NEW

well, i waited a long time to do this, write a review of the jacket i coveted ever since first seeing it on the eastman website several years ago. i came to the fedlounge already primed to be a fanatic, having started wearing military clothing in high school, surplus stuff whilst the vietnam...

will review eastman luftwaffe in separate thread thanks btank...wasn't at all trying to put down those who are my age and like wearing these military jackets...but sheeesh, even the hipper kids today wear oversize brando and military jackets...i did that when i was in high school during the...

Does Anyone Make an Insulated Version of a G-1, etc?

i guess our original question is answered concerning schott as 'south' already has one, but for others, please NOTE that the schott a-2 is NOT an a-2 nor is it the 184sm with the removable collar and lining...imho it is worthless as something a jacket lover would want since it has the dreaded...

thanks for your opinion...a certainly studied one post office not open yet so haven't picked up my "LW" as of yet... but wanted to comment on your observation on how the later variety of jackets were worn fit-wise, late in the war in pictures that we see i forget if it was you in the 'eagles...
