Not exactly new but along the same styles.
A D-J, a Caboy hattery, Caboy not mis-spelled , a Kevin O'Farrell. I have several others resembling that style.
You gentlemen have done a fine job with yours.
You can include me in that group, I have a fairly large collection of cowboy/western boots. Most recent acquisition are a pair of Luchesse ostrich leg in matte chocolate.
Will be ordering a pair of Luchesse classics soon, just haven't decided which leather, leaning towards ostrich again.
Since this is a Peters Bros. thread, here's 2 Indies.
They are several years old, the one on the left is a blend, I have it in black as well, the right is 100% beaver.
Nice hat Nyah, no, the brim will stay down. Given that these are somewhat stiff they need a little coaxing. I asked Shane to just center crease the second one as I want to do a bit of shaping myself.
If the hat fits properly it should not do any of the above. A hat that's too tight or the wrong oval for your head shape would have a tendency to cause the brim to wave especially a soft hat. At least that's been my experience. Felts are more forgiving.
My 2 PB Milans. I had asked Shane to just center crease the one on the right so that I could work the crown a bit, it also has a brim binding that matches hat color.
I have quite a few straw/Panama hats with leather sweat bands and wear them more frequently than the 2 Borsas I have. However, there are times I'll grab the Borsas for their lightweight comfort, I am at times inclined to take 2 hats along when I'll be out for an entire day and the weather is...
I do. Love tall square crowns, hard to find in straws, they appear slightly exaggerated in the photo because of the angle, PB's milans are worth every penny.
Borsalino happens to agree as well. I wear hats with both leather and fabric sweats, I find fabric a bit more comfortable when wearing for long periods especially in really hot humid weather.
Never be reluctant to promote hat making or hat makers, perhaps we're witnessing a resurgence of this art to some degree and that's good. You spoke well, of yourself and the art. Your hats look great, continued success.
