I've successfully shrunk Stetsons as well as other brands by wetting the underside of the sweat with hot water and placing on a lampshade with sweat turned out with the light turned on. Check every 15 mins. or so. Not sure what manner you're referring to , but that's my method.
Mine's the light grey. Ordered on April 22. So I've been waiting a while. To be fair, despite my whining, I did order an item out of the Fall 2015 catalog, and it's still Summer 2015. But I could have had 1/5 Akubras by now!
AH, maybe Stetson is waiting for fall to produce your hat, JUST KIDDING.
Just received tracking from DelMonico, that should be my Stetsonian finally, can't wait to get my hands on that crown . Should have it in hand by Wed. 8/19. All that's left is a CM fedora, a Larry Mahan straw and a Resistol straw, the straws being western.
Edit: I forgot about the PB Milan, add...
I've used the lampshade method on several brands of hats, always worked. Never needed to do it with Akubras as they seem to shrink on their own as do others. If I don't wear them for awhile I have to jack them back to size.
Or do as I do, wet the inside of the sweat with hot water, leave it turned down and place it on a lampshade turn the lamp on, (60 watt bulb works well) in less than an hour it will have shrunk and while still warm turn the sweat in and wear it for a while.
Both yours and Nyah's sound like killer hats. having mine done with a binding to match the hat with a contrasting pug. I left it to Shane to pick what he thinks best to compliment the hat color (natural) and binding. Tall crown, 2 1/2" brim, simple center crease.
That is exactly what I do as well on certain brims except I roll side to side as I lift depending on the look I'm after. Unlike most I shape my Campdrafts with more of a western flair, simple center crease, no pinch, and roll (curl) the brim sides a little then dip, not snap, the brim front and...
My Peters Bros. Milan has arrived, to say I'm delighted would be an understatement, it has met my every expectation. I won't go into details about it as it has already been discussed by others, I will say however that I see another in the near future.
