How much did ladies pay for their dresses back then?
I recently got two gorgeous 40's evening dress, one red and the other black with studs, they seriously are fabulous they fit every curve and were made to look stunning! They were however NOS (great!) abd had the price tag of $15.99 each!! Very pricey for dresses of the day!!- maisie

I have 2 pairs of purple shoes, one pair that are really chuky platforms, very 40s and are made of purple leather! I agree with every thing you say!! I seem to go between a 26"-28" throughout the year and have no trouble finding things!:D But I'm a 34" bust and sometimes find that suits will fit perfectly on the waist but will be massive on the bust!!:rage: I also spend about an hour getting ready, but...- maisie

I have only a couple of pairs of modern shoes, as I would rather spend money on a good pair of oh-so stylish 40's shoes that are made to last than a pair of modern shoes made out of plastic that will last all of about 2 minutes and will hurt my feet!!:rage:- maisie

I know what you mean! Because I'm tall the high waisted pants just flow (but they have to be long anough, otherwise they look stupid!!:eek: ) So I much prefere the style, plus cause they are loose they don't cling to the tops of my legs and make them look like tree trunks!!:rage:- maisie

I'm the same, I have an hourglass shape, which i think is very good when wearing padded shoulders (a la 40's!) with nipped in waists! For the summer i bought a pair of safari style shorts from Marks and Spencers over here, there are brown and come slight above the knee, but you can also roll and botton them up to make them shorter!! I do love the 40's styles though, so cute!!!- maisie
