Female WWII Reenactors?
Don't we all!!:rolleyes: I reenact British Womens Land Army and WVS, I also have WAC, ANC and ARC uniforms, which i'm hoping to wear sometime this year!! I also go to a Stage Door Canteen Dance, where a few girls wear the red, white and blue aprons and hand out coffee and dougnuts!!:) -

Nutrition and exercise!
When it gets to the summer i really have to watch what I eat!:rolleyes: Especially over easter i pig out on lots of choclate which is my worst enemy!:rage: So I just have to stop eating it, or else i will not fit into any of my 40's clothes!!!:eek: -

i'm a size 9-9.5, but quite narrow, and have managed to find quite a few pairs of platforms and other styles of 40's shoes, including two pairs of purple platforms!!:D (I have however sold 3 pairs of platforms recently, with a 4" heel as they are just to high for me as I'm 5'11"!![huh] ) So just...- maisie

Help I just shrunk a dress!!!
Ohh, and another thing, I 've got a load of 40's dresses that are heavy beaded/ decorated and my local dry clean won't even touch them!! :rolleyes: But I do recommend if you are going to wash something with buttons on, particulary if you think they might be metal button underneath the fabric...- maisie

Help I just shrunk a dress!!!
I've washed a quite a few vinatge dresses, including nylon 1940s dresses (one which I'm wearing to a dance this weekend and needs a quick wash as it stinks!!:eek: ) But I always use luke warm water and soap suds and dry things outside, but make sure (espicially when they are black!!) to turn...- maisie

Is a beret a seasonal hat?
I agree that it's what you wear it with, and if you want to wear a beret teamed with a suit (for example!) in the summer months, then go for it!!:)- maisie

I have seen a couple of chinese dress on ebay that are advertised as being from the 40's. So I was wondering, as they are so pretty :rolleyes:, whether anyone knows if they were worn in the 40's or not?[huh] Or whether they were a later fashion item? i just think they would go great with a pair...- maisie
