Or heather! What colour is that beacuse I always thought it was a purple shade, but after reading about a army nurse jumper which was called heather shade in the 40's, but is obviously a light brown i'm all confused!!!:o
CherryRed I love your compact it is SO very 40's looking, and very, very stylish!
I have a few compact and will post pics of them later, but i tend to find that most of the 40's compact were rather large, but I do have one tiny compact that is brand new and still has the unused powder in it...
In another thread decodoll mentioned purchasing a pair of spectators with whitening powder for them, so I was wondering as i have a couple of pairs of 40's spectators shoes (suede type) that when it comes to whitenning them what sort of products could you use?
Would you be able to use chalk?
I have been lucky and found a few suits that must have been made for a tall lady as the skirts come past mid calf length!!
I wouldn't change how tall I am, as i think taller people can carry off the 40's fashions so well!!:D
I remember seeing a original 40's booklet on ebay called 'Do's and Don't for Short/Tall Girls' (there were two different types) and one thing I remember it saying was that short girls should not wear big hats if they want to avoid looking like an umbrella!!
However taller people can get...
I love kelly green! I've got a brown and kelly green 40's suit and those colours were just made to go together!:D
Also kelly green and purple look nice!
Also I think if you coordinate you accessories (hat, handbag, gloves, shoes) with colours in you outfit that is the best way to think about it. So, for example if you were going to wear a red, white and blue summer day dress, you could possible have white sandles with a red handbag and a blue hat...
I recently found another colour combination that goes great together, aqua and brown! I got and aqua blouse and put it on top a brown suit and it looks sharp!!
I have my hair layered so it is just about shoulder length, it is also very, very thick and having it layered and quite short is the only way I can have lovely bouncey curls, without them disapearing!!
