I know! I love the one with the panther going across it!:D I believe there was one exactly the same on ebay about a week back??[huh]
I loved some of the 30's evening dress aswell, even the 50's evening dresses were gorgeous!
I agree with that!!!
I recently aquired, a quite nice I must say, late 30's cotton day day, with a 48" waist!!!!!
I mean you can't say that the only clothing you can get from the 40's are 24" waists!
Vix, what size feet do you have?
I take a UK size 7, but have quite narrow feet, what do you think would be the best size to get, as i love some of the new styles they have just bought out!!
I bought a pair of remix shoes off ebay a while back, they were brand new and at that time they were going quite cheap (Think I paid $40-$50??) I haven't recieved them yet as i had them sent to my friend in CA, but when I get them I will tell you what they are like, as i haven't had any other...
My last purchase was a really cool mexican (it has cigars and a weird shaped botttle??) print cotton playsuit it is so cute and fits perfectly! YAY!!:D
Oh, when I read this I cringe and think how delicate all of my vintage garments are getting! I mean they are 60+ years old!
I hang all my clothing up on padded hangers and the heavy overcoats/ suit on wooden hangers (only if they have the really padded shoulders!!)
I put lavender bags...
Great Pics! Thanks for sharing!:D
I have just bought a playsuit, so its great to see what the girls used to wear with them and how they did their hair!!
Daisy, those two dresses are lovely. I have two dresses similiar to the balck one you have one in black and the other in a a mocha colour!! They are so very 40's looking!!
And Lauren I absolutly adore that pattern!!!!! It is fab, and I love any 1930's or 40's summer suits!!
I'm not as interesting as all you other girls on here!! All I collect is vintage clothing! It is mostly from the 40's, but some pieces from the 30's and 50's. I particulary like the shoes and handbags from these era's!!
Its happened to me before as well!:D
I bought a lovely 40's day dress at Beltring, a military show, and wore it once, washed it and found the utility label under the shoulder pad!!
And another time I bought a lovely red dress, and found the utility label, it had been half cut out but you...
I'm so pleased with one of my lastest purchases, it came through the post this morning, and it is a great 1940s suit!:D
When I first opened the parcel up I was a bit surprised, as the colours of this suit are olive green, light blue and orange!
But when I tried it on it is so obviously 40's...
Oh, so much choice!!:D
I will have to have a think about it, but I definatly like one of the Esther Williams swimsuits, it is the simple bathing suit, very plain but so much style!!
Thanks for compliment, that picture was taken at Beltring, the War and Peace Show, last year. Have you ever been to that show, I think it has to be one of the best shows of the year!:)
