Oh, thanks for the link! I love all the bathing suits!
I particulary like these two:

I don't know which one to go for though!!
I think a repro will be better than an original, as i would be...
I'm going on holiday at the end of May, so i need a swimsuit to wear. I love the 1940s ones as they are so stylish and flattering, but I was wondering would the chlorine in swimming pools disintegrate the old fabric? Has anyone ever worn a vintage swimsuit to actually swim in?
Or if anyone know...
I love your blouse with the cool print! I love the 40's blouses and fabrics as they are so interesting!
I also like you Red Cross uniform! I've got the same uniform, but can't seem to get the hat!!:(
Considering some of the 40's handbag are so tiny, most of the time i just carry around a lipstick, compact, tissues and keys! No room for modern technology like mobile phones!!:eusa_clap
Daisy, i was watching that dress as well and as soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be one of those drss that the price will go high!! But I never even thought it would sell for that much!
But then not many dresses are selling for that on ebay!:)
I tried it on and it fits great, actually I wasn't expecting it to fit me at the moment, as it was meant to be a 25", and at the moment I'm now where near that! I love the of the top of it, it is just so military looking, so I'm hoping to wear it soon with a nice pair of brown boots...
Thanks for all the nice comments on the suit, I just need somewhere to where it to now!
Lauren those culottes ( is that what you call them over there?) are so fab!
On a Western note I recieved this jumpsuit today, I just think it is SO CUTE!!!! I have never seen anything else like it...
I now quite a few people who reenact, or collect 40's clothing who are about the same size as your friend and they can find clothing that fits them so you should have no problem find something, especially on ebay!!
I would say though, if you are going to get shoes aswell, get the measurements...
I LOVE the 40's for its utility look, especially British clothing (CC41) with the padded shoulders and nipped in waist but the excellent tailoring and attention to detail which makes the clothing look very military in style, yet very feminine! I also love how practical and comftable the clothes...
Those hats are gorgeous!
Most of the hats I watch on ebay go to the same ebayer, she is a dealer over here in England, and Ive bought a few things from her over the past few years. But the prices she charges for her hats, the cheapest is about ?Ǭ£50 up to about ?Ǭ£85-90!!
So I think, as...
I went to a vinatge show up in London last Sunday and purchased some lovely 1940s items, here are couple of pics! The 2 day dresses, especially the aqua one, are so much nicer in person!
Talking about flight helmets, today I got another one. This one is WWII British, RAF. It is the tropical issue (cotton, not leather), size 71/4 or 71/2 (not very clear) and it also has the radio and other attachments. (don't really know much about these sorts of things!!) Does anyone know what...
I have recently got a AN-H-15 summer flying helmet (well thats what it says on the label, as I'm no expert!) So i was just wondering how rare these are and how much they normally sell for. This one is in mint unissued condition ans still has the label issue tag, saying how to use the helmet...
