    more seamed stocking badness.

Yikes, which is scarier, hacking or mashers? As for hackers, do you think it is someone on the lounge? I loathe the thought of changing all my passwords again. I just got used to the new ones. As to mashers, well they aren't going to go away. They aren't justified in mashing, but I...

    Favourite Scents

If true, it could be worth the $ to get it. Any young lady today being pestered by dirty old men WWII veterans knows what I'm talking about.

Which religion is the right one for you? QUIZ

So I should be a muslim, who knew? Islam 75% agnosticism 71% Hinduism 67% Satanism 63% Buddhism 63% Judaism 54% atheism 54% Paganism 50% Christianity 29% I don't know how I got that one. I didn't answer yes to women were made for men, or the daily prayer question.

    Nothing but Seamed Stockings

A little bird told me that ladies sometimes wore black shoes and stockings, even with their wedding dresses around 1920. And it wasn't "something blue" either, the gown was white lace! It seems odd today, but black shoes (or boots) and stockings were a uniform until about then. They would...

The Cleaning Clothes (vintage or other) Thread

Bad news, I'd take the buttons off and dry clean it. But discoloration from sweat probably is pemanant. Oh and don't get it wet, it might be okay if it is silk (but the color would run) but if it is ceylanese (acetate) it would probably be ruined.

    Vanity Sizing & Labelling?

Well, nothing ever fits me, but.... I always have to alter patterns to get them to fit, and they have less vanity sizing than ready to wear. Vintage patterns work better for me though, because they have bigger hips like I do, but the waists are often still too big--like the dress I made...

    Nothing but Seamed Stockings

All the girls I know with tattoo seams have full sleeves as well, so tattoos on the legs aren't a big deal for them. lol As for black stockings for day, it seems old fashioned to me (as in WWI era or earlier). I have 20's and 30's photos of ladies with black rolled stockings, but they are...

Guidelines for age and vintage hairstyles

Well, you should avoid pigtails after 30 or so. Other than that do whatever you want. Lots of older women look great with longer hair or curly styles. The only reason a woman should cut her hair as she gets older is if she has female pattern baldness or some other problem with thinning IMHO.

    plumper lips

Do we really need plumper lips? [huh] All the same I do have Duwop's venom, which doesn't do too much to my lips, except burn them. If you really have too thin lips see a plastic surgeon. If that seem like too much, your lips probably are fine just the way they are.

    Black dress help?

The appliques are probably chenille, you can stitch them down with thread, but you can consider Fraycheck too. It might stiffen it a little, but is saves lots of stuff for me. I wouldn't bother to dye the dress or shorten it. It is an evening dress, just avoid well lit areas. Really...

    Genealogy/Family Pedigree

Eleanor of Aquitane has a gazillon descendants, I'm one of them. She had nine children, so I would suppose that there are tons of descendants around that have no idea that they are related to her.

    "Advocate Glamoure all the time..."

She's married now, I've seen the wedding photos. She can afford to be glamorous, she has to be, she's married to a rock star. I try to look at least presentable, but glamour every day? Forget about it!

    Powder Room Pets?

Some chat sites ban hotlinking, which is basically what you are doing when you post urls with html on FL. What happens (I think) is that you use the website's bandwidth instead of FL's. I don't know why other chat sites don't like it, other than they might get nasty e-mails from the web...

    Firming Cream

I have a gwp sample of Dior's Model Lift, but I didn't notice a big difference. Actually your best bet is to diet and do neck exercises for toning. I can't describe them, but basically they are head lifts. Other than that, when you are photographed lean forward at the waist and then...

    Powder Room Pets?

Why not did you get banned, or you just don't know how? If the later, you can always host them somewhere else like photobucket or image shack (I use Flickr) and then post the image url in the picture script box. In windows the image url is found by right clicking, then going to properties...

    What would you wear?

But what about when it is ambiguous like evening dress/cocktail attire? I agree with you on modern cocktail attire, it used to be that men wore tuxedos to cocktail parties, but that is overdoing it these days. You might wear a tux to a cocktail party at the Astor's, but to a cocktail party...

    NYC fashion fakes

Depends on the designer. For instance ladies handbags. There is a lot of real Coach stuff because it is in department stores (and therefore easier to shoplift). But, if you want Chanel, Dior or Louis Vuitton, forget about it. Just finding one real item in good condition can be...

    What would you wear?

Yes, in fact, since most men today only now wear business casual or worse for day wear, by this line of reasoning you can only wear those vintage suits for dressy evening events. ;)

    What would you wear?

Yes, but for ladies it says evening/cocktail which is either a long evening dress (i.e. semi formal) or a short cocktail dress (informal). The men's version of evening dress is a dinner jacket still isn't it? Why is it that they want the men in suits and the ladies in evening gowns? I...
