Yeah, technically the Y is a substitute for the letter ?û (thorn) (similar to ?? -eth). It is an old English letter that is still used in languages such as Icelandic.
But, yeah, it is pronounced "th." In the first King James Bible, The was abbreviated as Y with a superscript E. Like...
I have a friend with thinning hair due to thyroid problems. She wears hers as fluffy as possible and kinda short. It takes work, but it looks pretty good.
I've seen ladies with pattern baldness like guys. If your mom is actually bald in spots there isn't too much you can do, except maybe a...
Living in Los Angeles, I do get asked about movie stars and rock stars.
Yes, I do see big name stars with some regularity. But, no I really don't care, unless they are really cool to talk to (they usually aren't). I used to work in high end men's wear, so I actually had to interact with...
I don't know if you've found a shade you can work with yet, but here are a few suggestions for some other makeup lines with pale shades.
Fresh Cosmetics: I used to use their Northern Light shade which is very pale.
Aveda: their lightest shade is also very fair.
Prescriptives: I don't...
There's a cave in Guatemala for you, it's about 90 F year round, a bit damp, but there is a generator.
You can tour the place, but make sure to tip, because the guy with the generator, might forget to refuel and leave you in the dark.
Anyway, I've heard that someone was squatting in a cave...
If you can get away with it, stop using foundation. I used to have flakey skin, but I now only wear foundation for special occasions and no longer have flakes.
I wear powder over moisturizer now, and find that my skin breaks out less too.
You didn't mention which country in Scandinavia you are from, but is MAC makeup not available where you are? Most of the Scandinavian girls I know are very pale to start out, but tan really easily and so are usually a light brown color.
I know that MAC has websites for Germany and France...
I have been feeding my cats Iams and Neutra for a while.
The bad news is that I had to put Wanda down in late December of Acute Renal Failure after eating Iam's food, she was having convulsions and went into a coma. I can't prove that it is related to the recall since I didn't save all of...
There was a company that was making replicas of some old perfumes, but I don't think they took commissions. They're called Long Lost Perfumes, not sure if they still do it though.
A good perfume chemist could probably figure out what was in your perfume, but what is it called? It might be...
Here's another one, the "golden era" seems a bit tarnished.
These images are from the CSULB digital collection on the Farm Security Administation. Here's the link if you want to see the rest.

Yeah, well let's forget 1950 for a minute and think about 1850. America (well almost everywhere else too) was pretty rural. Where you gonna meet girls/guys? If they aren't from your church or the next farm, chances are that if a guy comes "courting" that your parents would notice.
It wasn't...
I think that the "hooking up" mentality can be damaging to boys as well.
I have two nephews, and they seem really hurt if they like a girl, and their feelings aren't returned. They get really depressed if a girlfriend breaks up with them, it hurts their self esteem.
I got a e-mail from...
Well I live in Los Angeles, where the average salary is supposedly $40,180, and the average home $568,000. That's 14 times the average salary. However, I've heard you have to have an income of something like $128,000 in Los Angeles to buy a house. Persons making less than that even qualify...
I believe that trailer parks were acceptable in the 40's and 50's. However, I also believe that trailers were frequently used for homes while travelling by people that already own homes, much like many people with RV's today.
So in that sense, having a trailer would be a perk.
Also...
That dress is probably late 50's to the very early 60's. It looks a bit like my red plaid dress from that era.
As for RN #'s, my old work, founded in the 40's has an rn # of 16716, still in use I think, but maybe they didn't get a number until later.
I usually have a subscription to the LA Opera (except this year), and sometimes attend shows at other venues.
I tend to prefer the more traditional operas. Sure it's nice to see an atonal opera with post-modern costumes and sets once in while, if you sit in the front of the mezzanine so you...
I won't bother you folks with the view of the walls outside my place. I did plant sweet peas by my window, but I don't even have shoots yet.
So, I'll show you the view from my work instead (about to be replaced by the view of an 18 story condo.)
This is a cell phone photo, I'll need...
I've managed to fix metal zippers before, they have to be in pretty slidey condition though. If they get stuck you might as well replace them.
You cut off a few of the teeth (but not the tape) at the bottom (or sometimes top) of the zipper.
Then you rethread the pull onto the zipper, and...
I had problems like that when I went to any swing dance event in San Francisco 10-15 years ago. I have a friend that got kicked in the face (although not at a Art Deco Society event) while dancing.
I presume that the members have learned to calm down by now, but all the same you can always...
