    Blanket lining?

Johnson Woolen Mills in Vermont offers great wool yardage. Last I saw, Pendleton blankets were a mix of wool and cotton (a detriment, in my opinion).

    Recommend a Panama ...

I would like brim width confirmation of the hemp stratoliner. Also, although not nearly as crucial, is it milan or woven? Not being on the website "yet", is worrisome. Both hats should be there if they intend to sell both.

    Recommend a Panama ...

Unfortunately though, the Range doesn't look to me like a fedora, due to not having a snap-brim (the quintessential fedora trait, in my opinion).

    Recommend a Panama ...

Living in the swamp known as the mid-atlantic area, I leave the traditional panamas and go straight for the semi-calados. I do wish Akubra offered a vented hemp hat with traditional fedora styling and a brim between 2.5" and 2.75". They seem to offer hemp in only the extreme brim widths, which...

No offense but wow, those are some of the lamest choices of vintage patterns for them to be reproducing.

No idea but, they look wool and I like them except for the lack of handwarmer pockets.

    Help with choosing new pants

It doesn't really need to be washed at all unless it suffers some sort of accident. I've been wearing the same pair of wool serge trousers nearly every day, all Winter and have yet to see a reason to wash them. If something spills on them that could stain, I'll just hand wash them and let drip...

    Help with choosing new pants

+1 on the wool. It requires almost no laundering, whereas cotton can't be worn more than a couple times at most before it starts to stink and feel wet.

How to deal with Static Terror!

I wear wool (and some alpaca) from head to toe, everyday. On my feet I wear wool socks with rubber painted on the bottom for a tread (although they're worn through so badly that it's essentially like being bare underfoot). I do notice that I get a lot fewer zaps now, than back when I wore...

    Akubra Heritage Series

I too am wondering why the retailer chooses certain colors to keep in stock. The Campdraft seems to be very popular in silver, yet that color requires a 3 month wait.

What to wear under the Fedora?

Back in high school we had lockers. I didn't wear fedoras then but, if I did, I'd still need to find a solution. There were many instances where I had to go outside in order to go from one class to another. Last time I visited a museum, I left my hat and poncho on. Last time I played music...

5 Hats for Life - Your Choices

If I could have only one hat, it would be a donegal tweed fedora with 2.5" brim. This hat would do it all - ventilate - resist water - dry fast.

What do you wear in the winter??

Felted poncho made of woven wool and alpaca fiber. Underneath I wear a T-shirt and wool hunting shirt. I've tried this down to freezing temperature and, so far, couldn't be happier with it.

How to find a soft and flexible hat? (no cheapo itchy crushables)

Does the OP know that fedoras can be made out of either wool felt or furfelt? What he describes reminds me of the initial difference between the two.
