What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Tommy - the Borso Film looks good which is the most important thing. Joao - nice finish on that Stetson. If I come across a flat brimmed 4" western/fedora hybrid I might give that a try ;) Michael - that Whiskey is a gorgeous colour. I think once my first two custom orders are done (Sahara and...

    Beaver Fur Cowboy hat

Size will have a significant impact on value if you did want to sell it. 7 3/8 - 7 58 will generally fetch a decent price, the market for smaller hats decreases as the size decreases. It looks a good quality hat - if it fits I'd enjoy it.

I've used both bicarbonate of soda and talcum powder - both work well, but over here it's not easy to find unscented talc and the scent can linger...

Dust them with bicarbonate of soda, leave for a few hours then brush well (getting rid of the powder takes some brushing though).

    Grandparent hats

A nice collection and display. To get the dust off you can buy hat brushes, but and unused paintbrush or shoe brush with stiffish bristle will work.

That looks great Lando. I can second your comments on Tim's communication and enthusiasm. I've placed an order with him and his communication has been first rate.

D.I.Y. Borsalino. Comes with it's own scissors!

With my cutting skills I think I'd end up with the stingiest fedora in history :)

    Akubra Campdraft

Fed in a Fedora - the blue-grass green does look slightly different in different lighting. I think the photo below taken in bright but overcast weather is about the most neutral representation I can find amongst my photos (at least on my monitor). It's definitely not lime or forest green. It...

    Fedoras afield

Thanks - your best bet is looking on ebay.co.uk (just remember English sizes are one size different to US sizes e.g. a US 7 1/2 = UK 7 3/8) and note that whilst vintage Feds often come up small through shrinkage, the rigid bowler shell means bowlers rarely do. UK 7 3/8's aren't common, but UK 7...
