Harv - that Burnt Orange ribbon works beautifully with the bone.
Aaron - It's a good job felt hats are pretty resilient. My worst one was a fedora posted in a plastic mailing bag, and I managed to get that back with very little work.
Robert - they've done a good job on that clean up.
Steve - a beautiful hat, but I confess I'm uneasy about otter fur. In the UK they were extinct in most of England through a combination of over hunting and pesticide use. It's only in recent years that they've spread back in from Wales and Scotland.
Thanks John - bone looks a great choice for a...
Charlie - I hope your mum is doing okay. With that family resemblance I think you ought to talk her into trying a fedora - women look great in fedoras. Great VS.
Gear-guy - nice stingie.

Stingy for me today too. SAKS with a Cavanagh edge - probably the pre-hatco 70's from what Brad noted.
Andy - great looking cap
John - that looks good. How pale is bone? A typical panama shade or whiter?
Perry - that Tilden is superb.
TJones - keep it. If my attempt at a Stagecoach conversion comes out anywhere near as good as that one I'll be delighted.
:arated:
TJones - 4" is definitely too much on me, but I might try 3 1/4" :)
Alan - thanks although it's dodgy lighting and definitely mid-brown.
Thanks g.d. - the VS lightweight looks great with shirt sleeves. No chance of shirt sleeves here for a few days.
Roger - the Stetson looks good.
Their bowlers are about the best you'll find these days - not up to vintage standards but not bad. I like a lot of their caps - well made and fairly priced. Fedora wise - the wool felt are better than most wool felts. The fur-felt has a nice feel and finish, but does shrink a bit in the rain...
AnA - nice Panama. Personally I like that colour Pug
gear-guy - nice hat (and shirt)
Lovely colour to that straw g.d.
Joao - nice looking Resistol - it's amazing what a difference a hair cut makes. I've taken the band off the Stagecoach (in the post), ironed the brim flat and re-blocked the...
Ole - thanks for sharing. You seem to be enjoying your trip.
I await he shocking info with bated breath. Don't tell me you're switching to ball caps? ;)
Hatguy1 - I need a wine-tasting hat (and a beer sampling hat) :) Looks like you're enjoying yourself.
David - Nice Penman. We might not have the choice of mass-produced hats people once had, but we're blessed with some fine custom hat makers.
Rick - I'll forgive the ball-cap in honour of the...
Andy - great looking Borso.
Beautiful Lee g.d.
Roger - a great looking black hat

Warm enough when out of a rather icy wind today. Christys' Melton 8-piece cap for a change:
