I'm not sure how much a response from a one-man cabinetshop will help in your "study," but business is business, no matter the level I guess.
Things are good. My eighth professional year, 2005 was my best and biggest in terms of income and being busy (not always going hand in hand). Now...
Bought a little time
Well...after a complete re-hash of our hard drive, and re-install of XPpro, we're running smoothly again, for the time being. This is the first time in 4 years we've had something serious. We'll see how long before it acts up again.
We still like the Mac, and feel it's...
The whole concept of Art is abstract, weather it is "abstract art" or not. It certainly isn't going to "speak" to two people in exactly the same way.
One man's trash is another man's treasure, and all that...
To each his own.
Thanks, Roger. Actually, mine is about as new as could be. It's a P-Bob that sat in the box until the season grew closer, then Art had it earlier this year. It's very nice, just some brim work/rework required. If I find myself at wit's end, I'll check into that stiffener. Appreciate the link.
Kinda makes you wonder what is, indeed, "finer." A really, really nice tight weave takes longer to make and demands greater craftsmanship (I think this would be the case, yes?), and requires greater care to maintain a smart look. While the coarser weave can be made by the same craftsman, it...
HEY, Baron!
Hey, Baron, remember my $35.00 suit?? We had a good discussion about dating those union labels. So, before '39, they weren't on the 10 year label plan? I'm pretty sure we determined my $35 number had the 1939 label and my tan "40's" dandy had the '49 date (think you and Marc...
Not at all a negative comment - it's very neat - but is that straw green?? It's got a different cast about it, doesn't it? I'm thinking just the lighting (or shadow).
What say ye, Roger? Art? I say, "Bravo." Just curious about the color.
Cab
Very sharp, as usual, HJ.
Say, what's the trick to keep that brim in nice shape? Mine is a bit discombobulated. It's been ironed, and steamed, and shaped, and it's...well...not so much. Yours looks fantastic.
Yes, per Daisy's recommendation, take that to California. I'd like to see it...
Very nice. This is totally optimistic on our part, but IDEALLY we'll only have what we really need on there to begin with. How is it that the best intentions always...well...don't exactly work out? Nice to know that once it's gone, it's really gone.
I gotta agree with that. I just perused the Vista site and it looks, and is labeled very similarly. For example: Vista's "gadgets" = Tiger's "widgets"
So, is OS X Tiger 10.5 or is it 10.4.7?
Ever any buggers when upgrading operating systems with the Mac?
Well, perhaps it's not quite the right time for me to pitch this, as we have no image hosting at present, but here's an idea:
How about posting photos (maybe just headshots) of us in "civies" and then in vintage - clothes, hair, make-up? For those who are always "oldish" I suppose we won't...
So what you can do now...that is, run a Windows program window inside of OS X is different than what you are saying is coming up?
Thanks for the point by point. Very nice.
N or C
Windows programs = OS X programs??
In this case, the "is equal to" sign should be interpreted as "approximates" or "relates to." I suppose we're talking apples and oranges in some of these cases.
Microsoft Windows XPpro = OS X Tiger
Excel = _______________
Word = _______________...
On battery with laptop now, but I have to make supper...blueberry pancakes anyone??
We went the "home-built" route once (not meant to offend, just something to call it) and were fed up with it after 6 months. This was actually put together for us by a retail outlet, not by us.
Just wanted...
In my case, they are one and the same (one in the same?). We have three computers in the house: The "main" one which is a desktop and sees the most use (a Dell, vintage 2001 or '02, I think), my laptop (also a Dell, vintage 2003) and my daughter's (a third Dell - present from my in-laws...
I see what you mean. But he played Warren Cheswick on Ed, and we liked him on that. Now that doesn't mean I want a Mac because the guy from a TV show we used to watch is promoting them. Probably doesn't hurt...
Now Amapola is home and we are about nuts on the Apple site right now...stay...
"PC" from the current commercials? Actually, I watched that, but must have been too late in the show. Or is there a different episode on at 8/7 than at 11/10?
I don't at all intend on starting a debate. I think it has been hashed over a few times here already, at least indirectly while discussing another topic. And while this may be a topic for another message board, this is the only one I'm really a part of, and I know there are more than a few Mac...
Magus is right - either way. The only wrong way to do it is to not wear it at all.
Nice. Yours is a bit lighter, but I have a Cav that is so similar to that. A good style to have in the SMALL collection.
