Convertible Scholar ... Per Matt's recommendations on this and other threads I just now ordered the Custom Hide Convertible Scholar in the dark brown leather. $269 but if it is as good as everyone thinks, it will not be very expensive in the long run (this seems to be a recurring lesson for...

What are all the different options / styles for a double breasted suit?

If it has two rows of three buttons, your options are whether you want the bottom button to be functional or the middle one. Most men look better with the middle button being the functional one. It flatters a man's figure more as well. I have seen the bottom button being functional in...

    The Ration Book Diet

My mother was born in 1921 and cooks vegetables that come out of frozen bags -- they all taste vaguely like potatoes, especially the peas. Analogously she cooks pork until it is fit for a zapatero to make shoes from. She likes steaks, even good cuts, to be cooked "well done," a terrible shame...

tiny point ... it isn't the cheese in fettucine alfredo that will get you. the cheese in that is parmigiano-reggiano which is an intense aged cheese that is so dry as to be rather low fat compared to Brie, etc. it is the heavy whipping cream and butter in the sauce that will get you.

    The Ration Book Diet

I do love cold fizzy beverages. I always feel 10 degrees warmer than everyone else, so I like to cool down. Cold sparkling water works for me, too. No calories and the faintly mineral taste is pleasant.

    The Ration Book Diet

Interesting project. Since my wife cannot cook much, whenever I go away she's slimmer because she eats cereal, cereal, cereal, and fruits rather than fettucine alfredo and Caesar salad. Maybe we'll try this. I'm at about 217 lbs now and I wouldn't mind going down to 200.

Yep. I'd hate to wash clothes all day, especially as I too am a parent. Especially clothes that have urine on them, and even grosser things.
