My grandchildren ...

My two grandchildren spent the weekend with me and slowed down from playing in the yard long enough to get their picture taken.

Your photos bring back so many memories to me.
Thank you. So cute kids.

Thank you. They are great kids (even if I do say so myself). :)

There's nothing more dangerous than a 6 year-old boy with a cowboy hat, a rope, a younger sister, and a great imagination. :) Not too long after the above photo was taken my grandson had tied his little sister to a tree as "bait" for a mountain lion.

My little granddaughter soon got herself untied and her brother never did get that mountain lion he was trying to catch. [huh]

How nice it would be to be young again ...

Boy did we have fun in the country back then. I didn't know what shoes were unless going to church.

I endured 8 brothers. I was a tomboy and kept up with them pretty good. lol
See what I mean.
That is a holster he has on his side like a zillion other little boys back then.

That's a great photo (and I do see what you mean). It truly was grand being a kid "back then". I try to give my grandchildren the same experiences as I had whenever they stay with me. I generally go on the assumption "if you aren't dirty by the end of the day, you didn't have enough fun." :D

This is my grandson and I at my son's wedding rehearsal yesterday afternoon. My grandson will be the ring barer at his uncle's wedding. He had on the cutest little cream colored seersucker suit. When my son got it for him, he said "now I can be just like my grandaddy."

Of course, he being "all boy" didn't stay looking sharp all that long. Before the evening was out, he and his little sister went wading in the lake you see in the background of the photo. While he did roll up his pants legs in an attempt to "not get dirty", it didn't take long for the water (and mud) to cover the bottom third of him. Oh well, at least he looked cute through the end of the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. [huh]

Now, I wonder how long that little tux he will be wearing this evening will last. :D

New daughter-in-law in the family ...

My son was married yesterday evening. :eusa_clap They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure, NC. The opening music for the reception was a recording of Glenn Miller playing "Moonlight Serenade" (it's good to know that the "younger generation" still knows what good music is all about).

I am happy for my son (not to mention very proud of him), and am glad to be getting such a wonderful and lovely new daughter-in-law.

Oh. How very exciting. Our daughter got married 3 years ago and we had such a wonderful family time.

All of you look just fabulous. Tell your son and his new bride Congratulations from foofoogal from Texas. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I had a grandfather and I adored him. He always had gum and gave us dollar bills when we earned it.
