Here's a pair I'm getting from our estate jewelry guys. They're said to be from the 1920s, stamped platinum and 14K gold, with what may be tiny diamonds in them.
It's funny. In my case I'm first-generation, Dad was from England of Scots-Irish decent, and Mom was from Austria of Hungarian and Slovak descent, but I truly never considered myself anything but American.
I guess I'd feel differently if both parents were from the same country or if...
If it weren't for the slower metabolism and the joint pain, it would be great. I get taken more seriously at 45 than at 35, and I've mellowed appreciably. I can sit in traffic and not blow several gaskets.

I'm always afraid that if a vintage hat has a low opening bid and nobody bids, the seller may throw it away. :(
