    Hats and movies

I was sitting down this evening to watch the original "Airport" which I recorded on my DVR from TCM a few days ago. I realized I was wearing my Resistol 707 stingy with its Boeing 707 hat pin. I hadn't planned it, it just happened that way. Does anybody else wear an appropriate hat...

    Wearing a fez

If one is built the way I am, one can wear a fez and a white linen suit to a screening of Casablanca. ;)

    Straw in this season

I still like my thinner felts, particularly my Stetson Playboy when it's hot and dry. When it's muggy, the Panama is king.

    Children?

I'd love to have kids, but if I do at my age, they'll be entering college around the time I'll be thinking about retirement. Still, my Dad was 55 when I was born, so it's not like it's never been done before. Gotta find a gal and get married first, though, and that has eluded me so far.

    When Is Your Birthday?

Gonna be 46 this March, and already whenever I stand up I make "the sound of the men workin' on the chain gang." lol

Thank you to FL Los Angeles!

It was fun, and a pleasure meeting you. Wish we could have done more, but maybe next time. :)

    Family heirloom cufflinks

Semi-OT, but is it considered a fashion faux-pas to have one's shirt cuffs large enough so that one's hands fit through when they're closed with buttons or links? It sure does make it more convenient.

Colorizing Films and other acts of Blasphemy!

Bartenders, do we need to see this kind of obscenity in the Lounge? I apologize for even quoting that filthy language.

    Where's my Cocktail?

I have yet to try Pernod. I'm afraid I'd have an insane urge to drive a six-wheeled pink Rolls-Royce if I did. lol

    Wanna Meet a Lounger?

Hollywood(land)? You're in the center of the action, whether you know it or not. Phillipe's, Farmer's Market and Oviatt's spring to mind, and there are a ton of others. Add two or three fellow Loungers and let the good times roll!

original "WAR of the WORLDs" 1953

I finally saw this one on DVD for the first time today. It really is a wonderful movie, and there's lots of stuff to see, from clothes and hats to cars and aircraft. Excellent (stock) footage of the Northrop YB-49 Flying Wing and the seldom-seen B-45. I really want General Mann's black...

    When Is Your Birthday?

March 16, 1961. Less than two months after JFK was inaugurated. I share a birthday with Jerry Lewis, Henny Youngman, Pat Nixon, Erik Estrada and Josef Mengele. I was born on the same day as Todd MacFarlane, creator of "Spawn." lol

The Goodwood Motor Circuit Revival, Let's Go!!

I was reading a British car magazine and they had a 1920s racer blasting around a bend at speed. The driver was leaning out toward the inside of the turn, and even in his leather helmet and goggles, you could see the determination on his face. The driver was Blackadder himself, Rowan...
