Cuckoo Clocks
We don't have one, but we saw plenty. This one is supposed to be the largest. http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/dd146/Mid-fogey/?action=view¤t=IMG_0533.jpg
As it turns out, we do have have a sort of "cuckoo" clock. It chimes off a few hours a day!
That makes two of us (sort of)
My mother got a small Lane cedar chest for her high school graduation too. In Japan in the early 50s she had trays lined with green felt made for it and gave it to my dad. About 15 or so years ago, I went searching, and found one at a furniture dealer. I...
If you look at my avitar...
...you see one of my typical summer looks. Its rarely hot enough do drive me to shirtsleeves. That usually takes 100 degrees, and I have to be spending a fair amout of time outside.
Those type of raincoats....
....Are the same type they use at West Point, The Citadel, and VMI. I had one when I was a cadet and they are awesome. The would keep you totally dry and not clammy even in Charleston S.C. When we wore it, we'd wear a "wheel" hat with a rain cover. You could...

If you wear fedoras, it also pays to get a hat...
Our experience is usually pretty good...
...Our local places usually have pretty good service. About the worst we usually see is when you get the young person in training. Some of the local, single location places are quite good.
Some things (and people) never change...
...I've been a button down and classics guy since the mid-70s. I bought my first fedora in '80 and my first fountain pen in '79. I've worn out and replaced countless suits, etc. So far, I've been able to find whatever classics I need.
Old Fashoned Men...
...Hmm. As far as manners are concerned, the rule I always follow is to try to show respect for others by my actions. I hold doors for everyone (no I'm not a doorman). I have no intention of changing or letting the rudeness of others get me down for long. I find that...
What!
No Wallyworld in Hokietown? Wow. You might consider doing the on-line thing. You can get new and used straights, strops, etc. I get my double edge blades at eBay. With shipping they are still under $.10 each. Best of luck whatever you do. I'll say that, since I went to a badger...
