You're right; Art puts a bit of his own personality in all of his hats. Whatever the style, thin ribbon, stingy brim, etc., they all have a definite 1930's look to them, at least to my eye. Truely beautiful hats!
My head is in the clouds!
The "stratosphere" to be exact, with my new Stratoliner inspired VS custom. Thank you, Art, for giving life to my dream!
This hat has a 2 1/2" brim and the color is silver mist. I'm wearing it today for the first time.
Hi, Immortaldiamond!
Traditionally, on good-quality hats, the liner is sewn in; nowadays, just about all production hats have their liners glued in.
If I were you, I'd leave the liner un-attatched. You can take it out in warmer weather and slip it back in when it gets cold. As long as the...
Jabos, your new hat looks great! But then I am rather partial to narrower brims. The proportions fit your face and head well. I would love to find a similar hat (in 7 5/8 xxlong oval)!
Good idea for a paper!
1. I wear a fedora because it looks the best of all the hats. It is still relatively easy to obtain. The all-round brim keeps the elements off of my face. It keeps my (thin) hair from blowing around into a tangle. The fedora means "grown-up man" to me. Also...

I will say that on the one or two times that I've received...
I see what you mean, but I think that what is important, what gives him his "coolness", is that he is wearing obviously bespoke clothing that has a lived-in look. We tend to forget that back in the olden days a man's hat was supposed to be a bit beat-up and personalized; a too-perfect hat or...
Those look like they are made from a split-leather that has been glazed. This is often called "bonded leather"; inexpensive belts are made from this type of leather. Obviously, the outer-coating didn't adhere correctly to the hide, due perhaps to oil or silicon used in the tanning of the...
AlanC: Nice use of texture, contrast, and color in your clothes!
Indycop: Under my coat is a sport coat, a sweater vest, a shirt, and long underwear. It was chilly to-day! Your brown Campdraft is fantastic! A gold-tone TWA pin would look great on it.
HarpPlayerGene: great look...
