Wow! Very neat! That 1950s ad is especially interesting to us stingy-brim fans. I wonder what the brim width is on it?
In any case, thank you for posting these ads, RBH!
I love the hawaiian shirts on this thread. I was stationed in Pearl Harbor for four years and these pictures bring back memories!
Congrats on your new hat, JPMcAdara! It's a beauty. I'd love to see photos from different angles.
To-day I wore my VS thin ribbon:
Great seersucker suit, Alucard73!
All of these summery hats you fellows are wearing look fantastic. I'll have to get myself a straw hat!
I wore my Stetson Nostalgia to-day:
I got a suit from this company: http://en.tailor4less.com/?utm_source=Mailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Corbatas delivered for one hundred and sixty-five euros. It isn't bad at all; it has a lot of hand-work and fits well. The lapels are a bit narrow and there is a button-hole on only the...
I bought a Nostalgia a few weeks ago and wore it all through my vacation. It's a very nice hat, smooth felt and no dye issues. It is a bit more hat than I really wanted, I think a slightly narrower brim would be better, but that's not a quality problem.
I don't have a Fed IV but I do have a...
Back from vacation
I returned to the States for a one-month vacation (I live in France) and during my travels from Chicago to Atlanta, I happened upon collections of Time magazine from 1937 to 1949 and Life from 1937 to the present. My time was limited but I had my camera with me and snapped a...
Wow! Daniel looks great in that hat; it really is perfectly proportioned for him. I'm a stingy brim fan, but I think even folks who don't care for them would have to admit that it suits him really well. I wish I had been as dapper as he when I was his age!
Thanks for the additional info. I have ordered a couple of hats from Hornets and got great service. The felt is really nice on their hats, but the sweatbands are not sewn in correctly, they rub my forehead. But the sweat in your hat doesn't look anything like the regular Christys sweatbands...
Congratulations on your new hat! It sure looks like a high-quality chapeau. How does the felt feel? And how about the construction details: is the liner sewn in? Are the stitches attatching the ribbon to the hat hidden?
Thanks for posting pictures, although this might prompt me to spend...
Siverbelly Campdraft
Sunny day today; I had to go down to Paris so I wore my Campdraft. I got a lot of stares!
Sorry for the poor quality of the photo; my camera has been acting weird lately.
Wow, what a complement! All I can say is that I can't hold a candle to you and the other regular posters in the hat section, but I do have fun. And I have a lot of great examples to learn from!
Ever have one of those days?
I just couldn't decide between my gray Campdraft and my VS custom. The sun was shining so brightly that I had to go with the VS!
