I can't believe you made this with missing instructions and pieces. If I'd have tried to do such a feat, the dress would have looked like a hack job.
Well done--and I like the fabric to boot!
I'm not a mom yet, but I think you look absolutely darling in your little black dress and sassy cowboy boots.
I remember my pregnant friend who couldn't fit into anything. ANYTHING--so she splurged on a gorgeous purse.
It's the little things that help pull you though.
You know--I must say--sometimes my dressing style is tied to my mood. If I'm not feeling very chipper I just don't care what I'm wearing, but when I feel on top of the world, why, I'll put on something that reflects that mood.
And sometimes I just need to fake it. Put on a pretty dress...
Welcome to the lounge, Lola!
I bet you would look adorable and vintage in a Pendleton 49er jacket. Check out eBay for them. They are very vintage in style and perfect for fall.
That would look so cute on you, I bet! And look nice over a black t-shirt too!
It is expensive to shop online at times, but it is well worth it if you come across something that you love and enjoy wearing.
I just checked Daddyos http://www.daddyos.com/retro/retroldy.html and I saw quite a few cute larger size dresses. I just lost 40 lbs, but was rocking the size 16/18...
June Carter and Johnny Cash--pure brilliance.
I'm always trying to get my sweetie to go as Fonzie from the infamous "Jumping the Shark" episode. Have him in a leather jacket, swim trunks, motorcycle boots and carrying a little stuffed shark. And I'd go as Pinkie Tuscadero. Yeah!
But he...
It's true about the plus size vintage--you can find it.
Just a quick search on eBay--and with your measurements on hand--you can land some pretty cute stuff.
Elvgrin rules! Makes me proud of my curves.
There are some great Simplicity patterns out there. And I can't remember where I saw...
Sigh! I know how it goes!
However, I have seen quite a few snappy vintage inspired things at torrid.com.
You may want to look there. And with the right make up, hair and accessories, I'm sure you could come out with something quite divine and vintage inspired!
I too have been losing weight and wear yoga pants when running around the house or when it gets cold out I'll wear--gasp--velour sweat pants. Just like Carmela Soprano but without the accent.
However, this dandy ensemble rarely goes outside.
I do have a lovely chenille bathrobe that...
Just think of it like this ladies--every time you leave the house well dressed and with make up on you are striking out against slovenliness.
Remember a revolution starts with one person!
Now let's go out there and wow them all!
I love my glasses! Only a solemn promise to my mother to wear contacts on my wedding day is keeping me from rocking out my frames.
I also collect vintage eyeglass frames. For the Ebay shoppers out there, I highly recommend the seller eyeglasses123. He's so sweet!
When I get home, I'm...
Hey, I just might have to stop by! I've always wanted to go. The owner/manager is just the nicest thing. I've traded emails with her on craftster.
Sounds like a fun way to spend the day.
Jitterbug doll had a nice answer to this question, but I can't remember it--possibly something to do with saving nylon materials during war-time, etc.
Let's see if we can page her with an answer.
Jitterbug doll--yoo hoo!
I usually go for a more mauvy dark color during the day and save my sassy red lipstick for night.
But if you like then go ahead and wear it all you want sweetie!
Interesting--I always find pantyhose to be more uncomfortable than to wear a garter belt or girdle, but to each his own. :)
I do believe they make control top pantyhose with seams--have you tried looking at Macy's? And I believe Spanx makes a version of fishnets with acontrol top.
