Really? Every time I pass one of the stores in SF it just looks like it is full of boho chic and that's it. And sadly their Website looks very boho chic.
Love the birdcage veil Vintage Jess!
Everyone looks so dandy. What an nice looking bunch we are.
Senator Jack--I just may need to steal that brilliant robot Halloween costume idea, to inflict on my unsuspsecting unborn children.
Will post pix tomorrow when I have access to them.
What is it about Ohio and great bargains? I saw two posts noting Ohio as the place where they snatched up their best bargains. When I lived there I picked up some great furniture there! The estate sales were insane! Nothing like them in the Bay Area. Sigh!
I would say my best buy is my vintage wedding dress--$120 off of eBay. I took it to a tailor to do some work on it and she said it would sell at a vintage clothing store for $2,500. I'll post pictures after November 18th.
I also bought this gorgeous REGISTERED maroon formal dress from the...
How funny! I just returned to Boulder this past weekend for a party and had Sunday brunch in the dining hall.
I grew up in Boulder, Colorado less than a 10 minute walk from the Chautauqua Park. I went on dates there setting up a picnic and even performed in highschool plays at the main hall...
Sadly, I fear that is me right now. I have bids on five items right now! Oh, and I was doing so well with not buying stuff from eBay...
Thank goodness I just got a raise!
Honey, that's me to a T or at least a curvy T.
Over the past couple of years there have been some cute dresses coming out of Macy's and other places.
But I just can't stand that boho wooden bead stuff that's going on. It does nothing for my curves. Bah!
That's it! You ladies have inspired me to try to do pincurls. I hope I don't end up with a fro. I'm terrible with hair.
I will post pictures of the final product.
I'm even thinking about getting going to Kim Long in SF to get some vintage hair styling classes or something.
So many choices, but I think I'll have to say:
Movie: Rushmore
I love how it celebrated misfits and how friendship goes beyond one's own generation/class, etc. Something about Wes Anderson's work just gets me.
Book: Too many! But I love the Anne of Green Gables series
It's the...
I guess I'm just old fashion. Vanilla ice cream, but with SPRINKLES! Hoorah for sprinkles! Rainbow please!
A good frozen vanilla custard in a waffle cone with sprinkles. I'm sure they serve that in heaven...
But none for me right now. I'm on a no sugar, no caffiene, no carbs thing thanks...
Just amazing! Isn't it wonderful to find photos of family.
My grandmother wasn't a good keeper of things, so many of our family photos don't have names on the back. Still bums me out to this day. Also my grandmother died unexpectedly, so many of the photos were left in my brother's basement...
I had a percolater that made the best coffee! But alas a bad move and it had to be left behind.
Lizzie--your kitchen is the stuff right out of cozy memories with my grandmother. Where did you find such wonderful wall paper?
Unfortunately, my sweetie and I have a particualarly touchy...
Oh the pathos--all the tempting shoes you ladies post.
My size 10 canoes are crying in jealousy! whenever I do a search for vintage shoes size 10, I come up with some kooky platform bonanza of a shoe from 1978.
Off to Vintage Remix I go!
Interesting question.
Sadly, I spend more time in non-vintage clothes than in, but I'm trying very hard to remedy that. Gets easier, by slipping on a nice vintage cardigan on some of my vintage inspired blouses. But sometimes after a tough day of work, nothing feels better than slipping on...
Hey LD,
I saw those two vintage cardigans at the Costume Shop! They are gorgeous--I have quite a collection of vintage beaded cardigans--I think I'm up to about seven at this point. My dream is to find a red one. Or navy one.
If anyone is ever down in Santa Cruz, California there is a...
