I can appreciate that side of it--it's always good to take the time to wear something nice, so you feel nice. I think perhaps the people they often chose are women that are focusing on other people so much, that they forget to take time to make themselves look nice. And that helps raise their...
Oh, they are gorgeous--those capes are just darling right now. So fresh!
I like J. Crew's Hampton stylings, but they just aren't made for my body. I'm too curvy!
Although this is possibly the worst picture of me, but it's the best picture of my darling polka dot tote my sweetie got me for my birthday this year.
Miss Dottie must have her dots!
I am watching the show and have been very impressed with it so far. I think it is interesting particularly after 9/11. I particularly like actor who plays the mayor who was amazing on Deadwood.
My friend bought a dress there once--the cherry dress and it looks quite adorable on her. I bought one of the dresses and it just was too low in front. I think I'm a bit too modest for some of the stuff.
What a great collection!
I know the cherries are particularly collectable. Do you know the history behind them?
I think my favorite is the A initial. Makes me think of Laverne from "Laverne & Shirley".
I fear this might send me to eBay in quest for one...
Thanks for sharing...
Oh Maisie--those dresses are stunning. I made a rather impetous decision based on my original desire to have pin curls and a bun in the back, so I have this wonky comb thing, but I'm determined to make it all work!
So true! Snookie, you hair looks amazing!
So, this was my original choice, but I thought it may be too severe for the wedding. But it's tough to see the whole thing. It's Kim Long, my hairdresser's--from her own wedding. I wish I had that great tiara to wear with my dress!
I agree with...
No glitter.
It's just not me. Sigh!
I love a lot of darling looks out there, but they just won't do on my body. But heels higher than 3 and a half inches kill me!
Wow! These are great ideas ladies! Thanks so much for this.
The Myrna Loy one is particularly good! And I was also tossing aroung the Gwen Stephanie one--seemed a bit more relaxed than normal tight finger waves. I just don't want to look like a pin head!
Flowers are tough--but I think we...
Ladies,
I need your best bridal help here.
I am getting married in November and found an amazing vintage dress from 1938 on eBay that I plan on wearing. $160 for this gorgeous crepe-back satin silk dress. I'm having the puffy sleeves altered to be less puffy, but I'd like to do something...
You ladies are the best.
My hair is something of a conundrum. Part afro (seriously--my Dad is black) and part straight. So I have brown curly hair that has a tendency to frizz if I do anything particularly snarky.
I do color it, so it's a nice chocolate brown and it holds curls well when...
Since I have very dry hair, I wash it about once a week. But put conditioner on it every day.
So here goes my list:
- toothpaste
- facial cleanser
- body wash
- cellulite cream
- body lotion
- hand and nail lotion
- deoderant
- perfume
- hair conditioner
- Sebastion Potion # 9...
Glamorous ladies of the lounge, how do you do it?
How do you get your hair to be so nice all the time?
I'm all thumbs when it comes to doing my own hair. My mother must have passed her hair ineptitude along to me because she has her hair set once a week. If only I could do that.
I wear...
