My thoughts exactly - what he said! :p
When I was a kid I wore a clip-on tie that I'd nick from my dad (he's a cop, and they wore clip-ons for safety reasons), until someone ripped it off and "outed me" as a clip-on wearer.
From that point on I tied my own ties!
I don't like the...
For the umpteenth time this morning I was nearly flattened by some backpack wearing eejit in the Tube.
Why do people - grown adults - insist on wearing backpacks in crowded places? I'm not talking about tourists either - I'm talking about suit-wearing commuters on their way in to work...
I'm a fan of Trickers... I have 4 pairs, and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
My Aldens are a close second.
I had a pair of Florsheim wingtips, they weren't bad but... I don't know, they felt very "plastic". Very light weight though.
Interesting link - not a bad price.
What is the issue with the el cheapo ones? The shape/design - or the fact that one doesn't benefit from the effects of the cedar?
Oooh - the King of Pop? That would be a new one to add to the list.
I've been called Sherlock Holmes (?), Crocodile Dundee, Indy, gangster/Al Capone and even a cowboy - but no MJ comments yet.
You learn something new every day.
I was in the army, and I never heard about this. The DI's never taught us about the proper wear of the class A uniform. The most detail they went into was about stripping the polish off of our new shoes.
Thanks for posting this. I believe I'll give...
I have a similar problem - an old suit that I picked up smells of mildew.
It has been wreaking (reeking ha ha ha) revenge in the department's coat closet, as I haven't been able to bring it home yet.
I contacted a local drycleaners that I use frequently and they said that they'll be able...
Hi guys - sorry for the delay in replies. Our ISP is down - the British Telecom fella is out to us tomorrow...
I'll post pics ASAP and reply to all the PM's you've sent.
Thanks for your patience!
Hello all,
I am selling my Carbon Grey Akubra Federation, size 60cm. It is too large for me. I wear a 59. Even with the sweat padded, it is still too large.
So... I figure I'd give the 'Loungers first crack at it before it goes on eBay.
Granted, it isn't a vintage lid (well, vintage...
I currently have Waltz 2" from Shostakovich's "Suite for Variety Stage Orchestra" stuck in my head.
Not that I'm complaining - it is one of my favourite pieces. It is all my wife's fault - she started humming it this morning.
I usually stuck humming annoying, mindless ditties - such...
Howdy all...
Just back from holidays in Romania, where I once again met with my grumpy tailor in order to get a suit and some trousers made.
I requested that he make me a jacket with features from a plethora of photos gathered here at the Lounge... Peak lapel, small armholes, etc...
I love the film. It is also one of my favourites.
I just had a suit made with the same type of lapels. Initially I was worried that the tailor had made a mistake, but now I see that all is well.
Okay - answered me own question - it has to do with the threads per square inch... I read that this is supposed to result in a "softer, lighter" fabric - however my Super 80 is heavier than the Super 120... odd...
Hiya,
Does anyone know the difference between Super 120 and Super 80 material? Is Super 80 used in suit construction?
I have a suit from Super 120 wool, and although it is nice and soft - I feel it is too soft to be long wearing.
I've got some Super 80 in grey, and it is a bit...
