Newark Airport great shoe shine
I just got a great shine today at the continental terminal at Newark airport. This stand is near the Presidents Lounge and I had the pleasure of getting a shine from a young African American woman(I forgot to get her name, but you can't miss her she has a Rasta...
Thanks Gentlemen, if you get the chance to visit these shiners again please get their names(and maybe a little history) and hours and post them...I want to make this as functional a thread as possible.
I agree with you Skyvue and I'm going to make an effort to seek out other shoe shiners in my area. Amazingly, Mario charged only $2.50 for the shine that took him almost 15 minutes. I gave him $6 and felt guilty that I should have given him more.
I was in Nordstrom's in the Paramus Park Mall(NJ) the other day to pick up some replacement laces and noticed for the first time that there was a professional shoe shine stand tucked away behind the shoe department. A gentleman named Mario was shining the shoes of a dapper older man and so I...
Welcome to the Lounge and this thread 442RCT, I thought the "Orphan" thread had become an orphan...thanks for resuscitating it!
Gorgeous jacket, really nice art work! Can you post some interior shots?
I checked him out, nice work, but you are better. Roger James does great retouching and gets that perfect smooth skin look like in the original glamour shots of Hurrell. Ferriera has great composition and good wardrobe but still is too natural looking and appears to do no retouching.
Don't grieve.... celebrate!
Wow, what a great man, great life, and great legacy!
I toast and celebrate his service to this country, his devotion to family and friends and the role model he is to all of us...we need more like him!
Hurrell
Very nice work Doug, you should check out the work of Roger James in LA, he's the best I've found so far...but you look like you can give him a run for the money soon! http://www.rogerganiajames.com/intropage.html
I'm also a fan of Hurrell, I just recently snagged his Hollywood...
No, I meant Art Fawcett the great American Hatter and sage of the Fedora Lounge. You need to get up to speed on Art if you really want to enjoy the lounge. Check out the Art Fawcett hall of fame thread.
Thanks All! I'd like to use this opportunity to post a question. I posted the same photos on styleforum.net and surprisingly got numerous complaints about me not taking my hat off in my store. To the best of my knowledge, hat etiquette does not require a man to remove his hat in a retail...
Going for a touch of Golden era today
Switched to a doubled breasted Canali today in a fine grain brown/black wool with Bill Blass orange tie and copper/bronze pocket square. Art's hat as always! (all new clothing, not vintage, but hope I got the look...any comments?)
better color...
Trying to get a mix of 50's and modern look.
Suit: Zegna Tindari 2 button wool/silk (ebay $47)
Tie: Equestrian Firenze (thrift shop $2)
Hat: Art Fawcett bespoke Fedora in whiskey with 3" brim and 5 1/2" crown
A really nice lid!
Like usual, PB and Art are the "dynamic duo".
Beautiful weave and elegant blocking!
I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it dnjan!:eusa_clap
Does anyone make an exact replica of Bogarts Trench coat?
Guys, I've scanned more FL threads and google searches than I can remember, can someone tell me if they've found a vender for a good and accurate reproduction of Bogarts Trench coat as worn in Casablanca or even the Maltese Falcon? I'm...
Thanks Art! BTW, great job on my Resistol!
That said, scaber, I was going to recommend Robert Weber aka Panama Bob of Panama Hat Works of Montecristi. After my sour experience with Ultrafino I ended up with a glorious hat from Robert that is worth four times what I paid for it and Bob was...
Hi scaber and welcome to the most addictive forum on the web,
As a some what new member to the lounge, I'm still not sure what the proper etiquette is for referring people to a lounge vender. I have sung the praise of one hatter in particular because of the great Panama's I got from him and I...
