Bottom line...you look good in it Ronin!
But I hope you know that by hanging around this thread you are going to find yourself getting obsessed with Panamas and I'm willing to bet that by the time you hit your 100th post you will be the proud owner of a Montecristi :eusa_clap
Hi Doublegun, You should do what I did.
I picked a felt color and gave Art a brief description of the styles I like, but most important, I sent him pics of me wearing several of my different hats and included a front, side and rear angle shot. Art called to me with a strong lecture as to how...
Thanks Barrelhouse, but now that I own a "work of Art" I can finally confess that I curse the Fedora Lounge and I curse all of you! A year ago if anyone told me I'd be obsessed with Fedora's I would have laughed out loud. I'm still not sure if the day back in April when I discovered the Lounge...
Hey Kid Mac, yep, the burgundy was Art's touch to reflect my wine background. I'm actually going to have him do something more detailed on the next hat but I have to plan it out.
Hi CRH, it does take some will power, it's so tempting to take my top bottles home for dinner because you don't really feel you are paying for it, but I open a lot of wine for sampling in my store (about 20k per year) so I have to use restraint.
Sold most of the '99 tortswon, but I'm holding one bottle for myself for an occasion. Like the shoemaker whose children go barefoot, I rarely take the best wines in my shop for myself. Let me know if you still want to do the meet up when you get your PB.
You know Bart, I spent enough money on ebay vintage hats to buy at least three VS hats and in hind sight I wish I did not buy the ebay hats. Arts hats are better made, custom designed and a perfect fit.
The answer is yes, but Art doesn't know it yet, but I'm going to make him work extra hard...
Hoorah! I'm in the club!
Just got my work of Art.
Heavyweight Whiskey felt, natural edge, tear drop crease, 2 7/8" brim, 5 1/2" crown, dark olive drab 1 5/8" headband with Burgundy contrasting stripe, black lining and light tobacco sweat band.
Now I understand!
This shot gets the...
A testament to Panama Bob (also posted on Panama Canal)
Someone made my day today!
While in the process of selecting a hat from PanamaBob a few months ago, we discussed a few style options, price ranges and delivery times. In the end I went with the Montecristi Fino that Art just reblocked...

Someone made my day today!
While in the process of selecting a hat from PanamaBob a few months ago, we discussed a few style options, price ranges and delivery times. In the end I went with the Montecristi Fino that Art just reblocked and banded for me and is...
I am Bogey!
After six months checking out this joint, I can say with authority that there isn't a pretty mug among us...thank god!
Bogey is the sum of every one of us who believes that a man's presence, character, charisma and charm transcends the shallow Hollywood stereotype of "tall,dark...
I agree with you Carlisle Blues, as I mentioned earlier, a new sweat band and re-blocking is the best but most costly way to go. Gclarks hat is waving because of his head shape is fighting the block of the hat in my opinion, just as mine did. Using a conformer from Art allowed him to block my...
Can't argue with Carlisle Blues about going to a pro...I just had Art Fawcett re-block my PB Montecristi Fino and replace both bands...great results and worth every penny.
As for the Lexol eating through old leather...I'm too much of a novice to argue the point but all I know is it worked...
Re: sizing hat
Hey Goose, I purchased a vintage hat stretcher on ebay and found that by liberally applying some Lexol leather conditioner to the sweatband and then steaming the hat with an iron and then placing the stretcher in the hat and leaving to stand 24hrs opens the hat up without...
