Black and Carbon Grey Akubra Federation IV Comparisons
It looks very good! I have read comments suggesting that the carbon grey Fed IV was a very dark color itself, but I wanted to see it alongside the black one. I think the photo shown in this thread is a very good example, but an outdoors comparison would be great as well. -

Are there active members on here that own both the black and the carbon grey Akubra Federation IV hats? Or, do you own these colors, but with different Akubra hat models? I am after the Fed IV, but I would appreciate any pictures of those as well, especially drawing a comparison between the two... -
How do folks react to your hat wearing?
Wear a hat if you would like to, there's nothing wrong with that. There are also people on that forum you've mentioned that do wear fedoras and other dress hats, but I don't think there are many. Although I believe hats are gaining a little more popularity for those that frequently wear suits... -

It looks like a normal satin tie, to me. The width may be '70s wide, but that's a nice small knot, with a neat dimple. I don't think it stands out as being a '70s tie, to most people, in large part because it is solid. I have a few ties I think are '70s, or possibly late '60s. One is a 3.5...- The Good

I have one Trevira tie, which is quite a thin 2 1/4" one of the '60s. I ironed it at one point, too, although I didn't go very far with that. I was worried that I would end up with it being very flat. It's still a little bit wrinkled, but when it's tied up, it doesn't show as much, so it is...- The Good

Thank you for introducing me to Syrinx, December Angel was nice. I think Kraftwerk were popular in Canada, and the United States in 1974/1975, because of the song "Autobahn," which received a fair amount of radio play. I have never thrown a tie away, or donated/sold one. Fortunately, I have also never encountered a lot that had a tie I wouldn't wear. There are some ties in my collection I may wear a little less often than I would others, but nothing I absolutely wouldn't wear. That includes my several modern ties.- The Good

That's why I don't buy lots unless I intend to wear most, if not all of the ties. You'd just end up with a bunch that you may not care for. If in the above picture, those are the eight that you mentioned, they don't look bad to me.- The Good
