Black and Carbon Grey Akubra Federation IV Comparisons

Are there active members on here that own both the black and the carbon grey Akubra Federation IV hats? Or, do you own these colors, but with different Akubra hat models? I am after the Fed IV, but I would appreciate any pictures of those as well, especially drawing a comparison between the two colors. Lately, I have been thinking about my next possible hat, and I like the Akubra brand due to their hats' reliability in the rain, as well as their ability to look good as a dress hat. Right now, I own the dark brown and tawny fawn Fed IV hats.

The Akubra black fed IV is the blackest hat I've ever had. I also had an Akubra Banjo Patterson in Carbon. Carbon grey is like a charcoal suit in color. The black felt is a very sharp black with a bit of a shine to it. I don't seem to have any pictures available now as I sold these a while ago.

I don't own a Fed myself but I have been thinking of buying one and found this picture for colour comparison (I don't remember where, probably on this forum somewhere. Apologies for the lack of picture credit). Carbon on far left, black on far right.

Thank you for the photo! I'm leaning towards black, as that is a color I do not own. I do still have a wool dark grey Jaxon fedora, after all. However, carbon grey is also a good choice, so it's difficult to decide. There is a thread on here called "No Love For Black Hats," and that's been a little bit intimidating. ;)

Please share more photos of the two colors, if you could, especially with outdoors natural lighting.

My avatar is a black Fed IV. I think I deleted the original pic.

It looks very good! I have read comments suggesting that the carbon grey Fed IV was a very dark color itself, but I wanted to see it alongside the black one. I think the photo shown in this thread is a very good example, but an outdoors comparison would be great as well.
