KTLA, the oldest TV station west of the Rockies, celebrated their 60th anniversary last year by showing old programs, showed a kinescope of a "Time for Beany" puppet show. Beany went to see the President, and they addressed him as "Harry."
I remember the cartoon from the 1960s, too. As for...
Well, my mother was from Austria and she was a nurse in WWII. I need to find those pictures I once saw of her with some German soldiers and scan and post them.
Here is one of her (On the left) in her nurse's uniform. Sorry, it's a little blurry, I don't have a scanner so I just took a picture...
Right now I'm debating whether to send my Filipino Armscor 1911 to a good gunsmith or just to find a better 1911. At minimum, the Armscor's sights need to be adjusted, they're off by a country mile.

I may have a picture stashed in a box somewhere.
Wow, great story! Thanks for the link.

Disney owns it now. I wish they'd complete the earthquake repairs (it was badly damaged during the 1994 earthquake) and restore it for use in vintage-themed...
I work in Glendale, and keep meaning to take a look at the terminal. I know that the runways and taxiways are gone, so don't look for anything that resembles an airport.
You can see the terminal in all its glory in the movie "Flight Angels." (1940)
Here's my Dad's silver cigarette case. It only holds unfiltereds as well, I smoke Luckies and use a Denicotea filtered holder.
It had elastic straps to hold the cigarettes, but those lost their elasticity long ago. I wonder how hard it would be to make new straps.
