If it's between gray and black, go with black. Black goes with anything, though some will say it's too dressy. It's a matter of opinion, though. My New Federation
Great choice, Bob. The felt will soften as it ages. Playing with it and wearing it in all types of weather will really help. When the crown softens up from a few rains, it will probably be more willing to take the diamond crease. Enjoy. NB- Not-Bogart13

Rules for wearing a straw hat
That's it, I'm moving to Alaska! I wear my felts as long as I can get away with it. But once it gets truly hot, I just can't. Felt makes me sweat in the winter! Like RedPop, I'm hoping to to stay in felt until April. Even then, if I go out on a cooler night, I might give in. NB- Not-Bogart13

Miller hats info
I have extensive experience with Miller hats. They were my main hats for a while, so here's what I know. The light gray Manhattan is really nice. The felt is soft, smooth, and the color is fantastic. In my opinion, it is the nicest hat that Miller sells. I have never seen a brown one...- Not-Bogart13
