I have used this stuff to apply a tip sticker before. Worked great. It dries clear and semi-flexible, didn't soak through the felt and is supposed to be machine washable so it should be durable. Not sure if you can get it where you are though. Somebody may sell it on EBay. I bought mine at...
I was watching that Resistol too. I put a bid in but it was left in the dust pretty quick.
The double brim binding looked interesting but there really wasn't a good picture of it. I hope if the winner is a Lounger they post some better pictures of it.
Nik,
The hatter that repaired mine did it by hand so he could hit the old stitch holes exactly. That's why I said it had to be tedious work. The man that did it though comes from a family of tailors and now works at a hat shop. He is a real artist with a needle and thread.
After posting...
Nik,
I had an older Open Road that some stitches were popped. A local hatter repaired it by sewing the sweat back in using the exact same holes from the previous stitching. I couldn't believe how good it looks. The only way to tell is look at it very close and you can see a slight difference...
I agree. However, I have a western Stetson made in Canada that has a wind trolley. It is not a CB or anything special. Just a standard western Stetson but has a trolley. It is the only one I have ever seen with a trolley so I bought it. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me very well. It is a weird...
Looks to me like it might be a raw edge. I downloaded and enlarged the image a can't see any sign of a binding. Seems like that would be pretty unusual for one of these.
You're welcome. I like the width of the ribbon on yours. How wide is it? I asked Art to keep mine an inch or under. In the pictures yours looks to me like 3/4" to 1" maybe.
Che, that is a really beautiful hat! I know you like wearing your brim up but that one really looks great on you with the brim down.
Nice looking plate of fajitas too! We grilled a bunch of fajitas Saturday and made menudo for Sunday tambien.
GT, that is a great looking hat. I have almost the same hat on order from Art. Lightweight Granite, vent holes, about the same width ribbon and a removable liner. Only difference in mine is I asked for a 2 3/4" bound brim. I'm normally a thin ribbon guy so this will be my first venture into the...
I've been told that since I was a kid. My grandfather who was a WWI vet and always wore a hat saw me lay a hat on the bed once and I think that was the only time I ever saw him upset. I've never laid a hat on a bed since then.
