Robert,
I'm just guessing but the size tag looks like a 1960's tag to me. Maybe one of the more knowledgeable members will give their opinion on the date.
Yes, the original Colt 1911 was designed for ball ammo. You never know though until you try it. I have a stock 1944 Remington Rand and it feeds hollow point fine. I have another stock 1945 Remington Rand and it doesn't. A good gunsmith can usually get an older 1911 to feed hollow point but I...
Hi flyingfish,
I have received the hat and it is very nice. I'd say it might be a little larger than the 7 3/8 size tag because I'm in between sizes. I usually wear either a 7 3/8 Long Oval or a 7 1/2. This one fits me fine and it is a regular 7 3/8. Of course, when it comes to buying older...
Robert,
That is a very interesting hat. I've been watching those Greentree hat auctions too and I almost bought one just to look at it in person even though it wasn't my size.
I'm not sure I understand you. Are you saying that you use the Stratoliner boxes because of that feature? If so, maybe I'm putting mine in there wrong because I have to curl the sides of the brim up or down to get it to fit in the Strat box.
I'm like you in that I have two Stratoliner boxes, one with guts and one without. They are cool looking boxes but aren't really very good for storing a hat. Because of the odd shape of the box the hat brim can't be laid out flat, at least it can't with my Strats that have a 2 3/4" brim.
Thanks Randall. Some how I missed that thread. Even using the procedure described in the sticky I have the hardest time searching the lounge and finding what I'm looking for.
Since there were some questions about hat blocks I was wondering if there is any information on the Lounge or the web describing each block by number? I've done a few searches and haven't come up with anything. Thanks.
Very cool way to display all of your hats together Dinerman!
Do you actually put the hats on a white background when you photograph them or is that done later with a software program?
Thanks Manfred. I've got to get it first and see what I look like in it. These are not my normal headwear and I'm a little afraid of what I look like wearing it! I bought it mainly to play golf in but it looks way too nice to get sweaty on the golf course.
Cordova Linen Cap
Below are pictures of my linen cap that Johnny finished last week. I haven't received it yet but it looks great in his pictures. Thanks Johnny.
