Cream summer suits are usually made of linen, silk, cotton, or some blend thereof. I think cream wool suits are a dandyish fall/winter option with a strong literary pedigree, pulled off with panache by folks like Mark Twain and Tom Wolfe. Cream flannel trousers were work-horse odd pants of many...
I describe my cut in the same way - a 1 at the ears, skin fade on the back, and none of the top. But they always complain about the top remaining uncut - because they say it prohibits them from blending the sides properly, particularly on the side opposite the part.
Love the dropped belt loops with the higher two button closure on the trousers. And the restrained pleating along the jacket's back belt. A great suit, HS. Is it black or charcoal?

A billion good reviews of different pomades and some styling advice. Obviously he goes for a full on pompadour rather than a comb over, but the method of application is the same either way.
Well done hbk - that jacket is great indeed. The blue with red pipping is more...subdued than some of those collegiate blazers I've seen. You have epitomized "brooding collegian."
Great looks Papperskatt! I love the way you've put your shirts and ties together. And the contrasting waistcoat with that pre-10's suit looks great. I feel like you are channeling Jude Law as Watson, whose performance nearly saves those sub-par American made Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr...
36 inches is the trouser length - if that's the out seam then I'm probably out of the running. The short legs always sink it for me. Shame - this is as pretty a suit as I've seen on ebay in some time.

Anyone care to try and make sense of the listed measurements?
Congratulations TT - there aren't many teenage boys who can inhabit a suit without looking like they have been belted into a strait jacket against their will. Your son clearly pulls it off. And the fit is impeccable, as I'd expect with you as his tutor.
I've been impressed with the shots that have hit tumblr this time. Lots of stuff I'd wear. Seems like proper proportion is being rediscovered. Waistbands are rising - but the ties still seem too long and draggy.
And I'd say Wooster has about one outfit in four I really like. The "short suit"...
Thanks HBK - Revisited that thread and I think I see what you mean - the terminology was a bit hard to parse for me, being an unstudied layman on these matters, but it sounds like you are saying the curvature at the top of the shoulder is wrong for Spalla Camicia? There should be a noticeable...
Another suit snagged from ebay. Not nearly as well appointed as my last purchase, but these basic three piece suits are my bread and butter. I love them. Fabric is a brown/gray with a blue windowpane. The tan buttons and thread are perfect. The shoulders are also beautifully constructed, with...
