The only thing that stands out in my mind happened in 1998. I was at a *ahem* gentleman's club and an angry girlfriend came in, caught her man there, proceeded to call the entertainers insulting names, and then came the best part....
...she took his martini and slammed it against the bar...
The only thing I go all-the-vintage-way on would be movies. I RARELY watch movies made after the early 1940s. My passion is with movies from the 1920s and especially the 1930s. I have so many unwatched movies that I've recorded that I just don't have time for anything else. I barely have...
I trim off what little eyebrow hairs I have with scissors. My drawn-on brows look MUCH better than the barely-there, scattered-about natural brow hair that I have. I think drawn-on brows look neat!!
This dress was my great great grandmother's. I'm guessing it's from the 1900s/early 1910s. Maybe even earlier than that. My grandmother gave it to me and wasn't sure herself. She just told me that she remembered getting into her grandmother's things when she was a kid. She told me that...
lol lol lol
I only shave my legs about 5 times a year. My hair is fine and redish blonde and barely there. My armpits only grow a tiny amount of peach fuzz, but if I don't shave them every few days they begin to smell -- even with that little amount of hair.
Won't go into girl parts...
WOW!! I've often wondered about those photos, too. Great find.
Nancy Carroll
June Lang
Robert Montgomery & Ann Harding.
Possibly from Biography Of A Bachelor Girl (1935) ??
Don't take this the wrong way - because you know I luv ya - but you look like a young old lady in this picture!!! That's a compliment. It really is!!! :) :) :) :) It looks like a photo of someone's grandmother in the 1940s. Again -- COMPLIMENT!!! ;)
I always thought that that was one of the main functions of the "Modesty Panel" on all the vintage bathing suits!!
Yes, I think about some things way too hard.....
The only one I can compare at this time is Red Headed Woman, written as a novel in 1931 by Katharine Brush and then filmed by MGM in 1932.
In this case, the movie is waaaaay better than the book. Lil LeGendre is terribly selfish and unlikeable in the book. I don't know if it's supposed to...
London will forever be remembered as the Coconut Shrimp Vindaloo capital to me :) Curry/Vindaloo was as common as pizza is in the USA. Mmmmm. I do miss that huge serving of hot, hot Vindaloo from the shop around the corner from where my husband used to live.
It was so hot and so large I...
My husband is from London, England and he has this conversation all the time:
"You're not from around here! Where are you from?"
"London."
"Why did you move here??"
"Because my wife is from here."
"But why would you want to leave Australia?" :eusa_doh:
As for the people who...
There's the very stupid "Which Exit do you live off of?" (off of the NJ Turnpike!) Yes, people still ask this. I grew up in a small town in the deep South of Jersey, closer to the Delaware Bay. The Turnpike was a 45 minute drive from where I was. There was no city there whatsoever and there...
