I like Lucienne Boyer!
I also have a few German tunes on some of my compilations, but I couldn't tell you who they were from memory! Old German music is one type that I'd like to get more into, but time and money are currently not letting me.
ASV Living Era has tons of English songs on...
Bummer! I think everyone looks fantastic with a bob! Maybe you could get your hair cut into a bob shape, but let the natural curl take over? That would be a cute vintage-inspired look. No bangs, though. Instead, make a side parting and do a little spitcurl on the corner of your forehead...
Cover Girl is being offered on On Demand this month.
I watched the first few minutes (or I tried!), but the husband was getting impatient with it (the hot women didn't even save it for him  )
I'll record it and watch it on my own time, though. After reading all of these glowing...
DOn't know how straight your hair is, but my favourite short cut is the bob!
I even wear the exact same cut myself! It doesn't take me long to do it at all since my hair is natuarally straight as a rod. I just blow dry the edges upward to get that curve on my cheek, shape it with a bit...
I saw so many dreamy shoes on that Tango Shoes website!! MUST HAVE:

Who has $114.00 to lend (give) me????? :) :) :)
Everyone should own the ASV Living Era Record Label's "Hits Of..." year-by-year collection.
They have a CD of "hits" for every year from 1920 to 1955 (last time I checked). They haven't released 1926-1929 yet, but I've heard that they're currently in the works. I have 1920, 1921, 1930...
That's exactly how I originally became enamoured by old movies when I was a kid. I LOVED staying up late, even on school nights. I had a TV in my room. I would scour the TV Guide for the oldest movie playing and tune in.
Then the station would go off the air, a test pattern would be up...
Those sound films from Germany where they barely talk (Ecstacy, Vampyr) -- are they called kammerspielfilm?? A pretty reliable source once told me that this was the correct term for such films, but searching on the net has lead me to this:
"The plots and stories of the Expressionist films...
Several years ago The Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia would show silent films with live music. I was introduced to the infamous Alloy Orchestra when they did the score for a showing of The Black Pirate (1926).
I'd heard a lot of negative about the Alloy boys, but I loved them. The...
Amy = Real first name
Jeanne = After movie actress Jeanne Eagels, who died in 1929 of a herion overdose. I'm fascinated with lesser-known starlets who died young and under seedy circumstances!
I've been seriously into vintage now since 1998 and this is all I have to show for it clotheswise:
7 dresses (1 which is unwearable)
7 hats
4 coats
2 bathing suits
1 necklace
1 bracelet
And I never wear any of this unless it's a special occassion. I'm vintage-inspired every single...
One for every year of the dominant silent era 1915ish-1929:
Kidnapped In New York (1914)
The Social Secretary (1916)
A Girl's Folly (1917)
Stella Maris (1918)
True Heart Susie (1919)
The Flapper (1920)
The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse (1921)
Toll Of The Sea (1922)
Safety Last...
I never feel like a freak. I know I'm cooler than people who intentionally try to make me feel out of place. It makes me do it even more lol
I'm a rebel like that! I've always done that even in my teenage punk days. Like Miss LizzieMaine said -- I don't *want* to be like them...
I surf the net all day at work. For 8 hours straight I stare into Internet land. I'm on the FL about 75% of that time :o
When I get home I don't even want to go near a computer.
My husband is from London and I told him about this.
His reply: "Hollyoaks and Footballers Wives are shows about Trash. They want America to think we're all Trash?"
He is emabarrassed by this news.
I'm disappointed with BBC America anyway. How many times can one station show the...
