How can you 'age' a hat? PLEASE Help....
Check with Major Moore at Buckaroo Hatters. They have a way of adding sweat stains & trail dust/dirt to hats to make them look well-worn. Some of the hatters that do Indy hats also apply dirt to get the hats to look exactly like certain scenes in the movies.... -

Leather jacket repair/restoration

You wear it well too. I have a 7X CB & a 100 of basically the same time period. As talked about before, I'd stand that they are the same felt blanks with the 100 just being finished out by 1 master hatter while the 7X CB was done on the assembly line. At the core, they are so close to one... -

Darkening a leather jacket

Right, that is why most here, & because we like the "old style" hats, go with at least a 5 1/2" open crown. Some of us large noggin Loungers go for 5 5/8" & 5 3/4" open crowns to have enough for the crease to use. Modern HatCo fedoras, see modern HatCo Stetson Stratoliner, have a 5 1/4" crown...
