Standard Hat Works Open Road

I recently picked up a hat from Standard Hat Works. There is no information inside the hat except "Standard Hat Works, Waco Texas". It looks like an Open Road. $5.00 at a yard sale. :) Just wondering if anyone has a hat from them. I don't think I could have possibly paid too much but wonder if anyone can give me first hand info on the company.

The original Standard Hat works in Waco is gone. The name has been revised by a former employee of the later. Lenny is a fine gentleman and from what I have seen dose some outstanding custom work. He has helped me out a couple of times and I plan on continuing our relationship for years to come. I highly recommend him as he is a man of his word. He like most good hatters lets his work stand on its own merits, as opposed to the carnival barkers that demean others in order to vainly try and build themselves up. The stacks of work that Lenny has in the cue attest to fine workmanship. Give Lenny a call I am sure he will do what he can. He is closed on Sunday and Monday, last I checked. (254) 754-4287

Looking good. All you need now are a pair of wayfarer sunglasses and you will be good to go! Very blues brothers. Fantastic looking hat and I hope you enjoy it and wear it in good health.

Thx for the compliment... Oddly enough I never even thought about the blue brothers. I can kinda see it now though.

Nope definatly not the case. My buddy buddy just took ownership of it this wk. he is actually calling all old outstanding orders trying to procure all that the previous owner neglected. Coincidently my buddy's brother in laws family are the founders way back in 1909.

All the old original 1800 hat making equipment is there. My friend Cameron used it to make my fedora. Cameron has a strong passion for this and is doing everything he can to get more ppl to wear hats. He was really excited to see that I posted something on this forum. If you get a chance to stop by and say hi.

Looks good there dude. Try cocking it at different angles. As Mister Sinatra said "Cock your hat, Angles are attitudes".

Thx Pete I'm really digging it... I wish I wasn't leaving to Oregon Monday b/c I'd have me a lighter silver belly or natural one made.
