Vintage Stetson Stratoliner 7 5/8

Here's a beauty in a large size with all the acutrements. Stetson Stratoliner in size 7 5/8 comes with original oval Stratoliner box and the original sterling silver pin. Ops sticker around size tag. Wide brim is 2 3/4. Matching ribbons . Liner has plastic protector and is in very good condition. Leather sweatband is excellent. Fur felt is nice and easily bashable . Overall this hat is n very good condition and ready to wear. Color is a light beige.

Is the pin vintage and marked "Sterling" in the back of the wings? Or is this a repro made in sterling? (looks like the latter to me from the pic) Can you post a picture?

Andrew. I have handled repros and this one definitely has alot of detail to it that the repros did not have To be honest I did not even bother looking at the back of the pin as it appeared to me to be the real deal. I will look closer at pin back and post what I find.

There are high quality reproductions that show detail well. The vintage pins that were made of sterling (I own two) say sterling in the back very clearly. If you just assumed it was sterling, maybe saying so in the listing would be more accurate for those who are new or don't know this stuff. Just a suggestion.

For what its worth, I've handled known repros marked sterling. No doubt this pin is authentic...Too much *wabi* not to be.

For all practical purposes I have amended the eBay listing stating it is not sterling silver as well as saying I do not know if it is original to hat or not.
If any one here has bid on the hat please feel free to cancel your bid if the pin info makes you feel uneasy about buying.

I have a "reproduction" pin on my Strat, this one you have here looks to me to be the real deal without a doubt in my opinion! Has enough "war scars" on it from service! lol!
